hmmmm... trying to think of possible replacements...? The two front runners in Coppells mind must have been the much publicised pair of Zamora and Morrison, but they have both recently moved :|

Who else is there? Hulse has been mentioned but I'm not sure if he will slot in in the Kitson role...

Possibly Cameron Jerome, after Birmingham signed Phillips and Bent? or even the likes of James Beattie?

Platypuss
Royal Rother Relax - this deal isn't going to happen.

It was all so inevitable once this had happened.

There "isn't a transfer happening in the Championship that we do not know about"

Lets hope Hammond has paid his mobile bill.

True. But be careful...don't be smug in our demise. In other words, even when you are right, you are still wrong. :P

It might as well be £20 million, if we reinvested sod all of riches from the premiership why would we reinvest the proceeds of the asset strip?

Well done the RTGs for once again trying to ignore the inevitable. I would like to extend a hearty round of applause to the car park brigade for scuppering any chance we would have had of going back up - congratulations, you're all heroes.

dosnt matter if we got 10 million for him , we wont replace him with anyone anywhere near quality of kitson , small club , small ambition , big talkers exacly the same every year.
squeeks will be on saying the offer is to good but do not worry as we are looking at a 3rd division striker from switzerland , and he is mustard

what a load of bo***cks

i am glad i did not get a season ticket

Why worry about how much we sell him for?

Its not as if we would re-invest it.

Business first and foremost, spend as little as possible. Surely thats obvious by now?

Brick by brick.

Slowly dismantling a top half premiership team to replace it with a huge stash of cash locked safely out of reach.

If we reinvest this wisely, then is it a bad move? No.

However, I have real doubts about how we will replace our most talented striker. Oh, OK, we've got Lita and he's back at his level so its not all bad, but Kitson, imo, had something extra and deserves to stay in the Premiership. Even if only briefly.

I would also like to know what Reading gave him to get over his sickness so quickly.

Is there no way we can get the comments of posters when from when we bought Kitson?

The ones about third rate, lack of ambition, etc...?

those that think players can just be 'replaced' (Which I did about Sidwell because I thought we could attract a class replacement at the time) are clearly wrong.

having said that we do clearly have players who want to leave - Kits being one of them.

Do we sell them now or watch them put in half hearted performances until January and sell them for less money?

the biggest problem that we have is that the activity is going to build and we shall sell Shorey, harps, Hunt, Lita and Doyle at the last minute - and little time to buy replacements and when we do they will have little or no time to bed in to the squad.

But what else could SC have done - sold them all earlier in the summer for less? and got replacements in earlier?

I don't know the answer - it feels like we are slowly having hope and motivation removed and we can do nothing about it
