Reportedly? I thought Coppell said he hadn't received bids for our players?
Sidwell's just gone to Villa for £5 million in case you hadn't noticed.
GARETH Southgate will not increase his offer for Reading midfielder James Harper despite having completed the lucrative sale of Lee Cattermole to Wigan Athletic.
Boro have their valuation of Harper and are sticking with it.
It means that the stand-off between the two clubs will continue, with relegated Reading sticking with their reported asking price of around £5.5m.

LOL at you contradicting yourself.
Firstly, Sidwell's hardly played in the last year, so it can't have been 'for his sterling work at Chelsea'.
Secondly, that particularly article indicates that Boro don't think Harper's worth anywhere near Sidwell's fee of £5 million.
Oh and thirdly, there is a small difference between Chelsea and Villa and Middlesbrough. If he was to be a part of Boro's central midfield on a regular basis though, I would fancy them to go down.

Royalee 'Southgate would still like to sign the 27-year-old because he believes Harper would make an impact both in and out of the dressing room.'

Nothing to do with his footballing ability then...
Andy Hughes and Stephen Hunt are said to be good for dressing rooms too, why aren't they playing in the top flight?

Apocalypse Now Do you ever stop to consider that teams in the Championship don't have top quality strikers or midfielders? Using last seasons scores as some sort of evidence to suggest the side will struggle this season is frankly bollocks.

rfctabs Start as I mean to go on Well, I think, reading through the various posts, there's more positives than negatives and we'll go back up automatically.
We have a lot of the old PL squad; we have Mr Coppell; we have Mr Mad (who is, indeed, committed); and we have the fans.
