Reading Legends?

Barry Wagstaff - for his goal against Arsenal
Robin Friday - for everything that he did
Simon Osbourne - for being the best player we've had since Robin Friday (see above)
Dylan Kerr - for his goal at Blackpool and having a personality
Shaka Hislop - listen to the reaction the crowd would give him whenever he returned, that proves he is a legend
Martin Hicks - anyone who manages to hang around the club for that long deserves to be in the list
Mr Mad - without him there may well be no club to support
Adie Williams - for the passion

The 2006-7 team almost took their place.

But I couldn't say which ones are legends.

Senior was a bit of a donkey who scored goals. I guess that makes him a legend.
Gilkes would be up there as a legend as would Deno.

I'll tell my Grandchildren about the entire squad that got us promoted, plus Bikey, Marek and probably Seol. I'll add Parky, Gilkes, Williams, Quinn, Gooding, Fozzy, Cureton, probably Butler, Hicks, and Archie. And Shaka. Those all deserve "legend" status from my life time. The promotion winning squad will be remembered for ever in Berkshire, like all great teams are in their respective areas.

In my opinion a player can only be considered a legend at one club. Some of the players listed are more famous for playing elsewhere, some hardly played at all. A solid 6 years service is needed in my opinion.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy – A United great, but not a United legend.
Ole – A United decent player, but a legend.

Time for you to rethink.

Maybe not 6 years then but you associate Eric with United, he played more games for us than any club.

Ian Royal seems to think that a wonder goal is enough to get legend status.

Half the players listed you'd associate elsewhere so not sure how they can be considered 'Reading Legends'

it gets a bit boring hearing about all the stuff he did unless you were actually there and not many were - possibly a couple of hundred on match days - if that?

if it is true that he shat in Mark Lawrensens kit bag after being sent off then he truly is a leg end
