It's hardly been a secret that teams might be interested in Doyle. The papers have run a Keane interest in Doyle story for months now.

Anyway, the club should have an eye on a replacement for all our players really. Maybe nothing concrete but at least a list of potential targets they like.

I must admit I have been worried about the Doyle situation since he said he was happy to stay. Had all the markings of a player making peace with the fans so that when he left all the wrath would be directed at the club.

However the figure being quoted is £4m and I can't see Doyle being worth anything less than Kitson. Plus there's the SC transfer deadline which runs out this weekend so we're into "massive premium" teritory so let's see how a price of £8-9m tests Keane's resolve. ( Mind you he was stupid enough to pay £3m for Halford )
