I've got no problem with Harper. He's a fine player who always gives his best for RFC. His effervescence is apparently good for morale (although I'd be really pissed off with him if he worked with me).

If BR's source was Harper, or a 'source close to Harper', then the comments about him being played out of position were probably made either after relegation or when it became clear that we would be relegated. "It's not my fault we went down, I was played out of position so therefore (even though I am a well-paid professional footballer) I could not play to my best abilities".

I hope he stays, as finding a replacement for him will be nearly as difficult as finding a replacement for Sidwell

As stated in the papers today, Young is set for £5m move to Villa so i guess this means Boro will now come back in with a larger bid for Harper!?

He is, but the money they get for him will free up funds to sign harper.

Do they have someone to take over at full back or are they going to need that money to replace Young?

All depends what they see as a priority - Harper before someone else gets him or a new full back

When does Harpers contract run out? - Coppell doesn't HAVE to sell him

£4million + for Harper would be FANKS

Having said that if we aren't going to spend ANY of this transfer money then they may as well turn it down.

£5.5m for Kitson, £3.5m (guestimate) for Shorey = £9m

If we do sell Harper for £4.5m then we'll have £13,5m, spend £5m on a decent central midfield and i'll be happy - if we only spend £500k on one then i give up and question where Coppell/Madejski actually wants to take this club.
