Bundesliga off to a flying start - Hamburg came back from two down to salvage a deserved 2-2 draw away to Bayern Munich. Good start for Jol - Klinsmann, on the other hand, seemed less than happy.

French season got off to a flyer last weekend, not least for Rennes and Marseille who drew 4-4 with 3 of the goals benig scored in injury time

Rennes 4-4 Marseilles
http://www.onlinepariuri.com/-videorennes-marseille-4-4-r727.html

Top of the table has a familiar look to it with Lyon in first place after a 3-0 win over Toulouse.

Over in the Fatherland the season started last night with Bayern Munich drawing 2-2 with Hamburg. Bayern were apparently extremely poor though the absence of Luca Toni won't have helped.

Seria A & La Liga start in 2 weeks time, Portuguese league starts next weekend.

Starfish Bundesliga off to a flying start - Hamburg came back from two down to salvage a deserved 2-2 draw away to Bayern Munich.

Awfully easy on the eyes, that one, even though half of the scoring came from the spot.

So delighted to have moved and got an additional football channel on my satellite package, which means I'm back to getting Bundesliga again after a two-season absecnce (full programme of live and delayed fare today) and, in a couple weeks, ::licks chops:: La Primera. 8)

Would be a treat to see Hoffenheim become the story of the season over round your'n Starferz.

Absolutely - Hoffenheim are accused of being just a money team but fair play to them. Wonderful start for them today anyway! 1.FCN kick off tomorrow at home to Augsburg in the second league, alas. And I'm bringing a girl to see the game

Anyway, as I suspect Herr S. Biscuit is sticking to his guns, here are the results from Bundesliga 1. from today.
Arminia Bielefeld 2 Werder Bremen 2 FT
Wichniarek 73 , 80
Rosenberg 60 , 79

Bayer Leverkusen 2 Borussia Dortmund 3 FT
Helmes 21
Kiessling 83
Valdez 4
Kringe 37
Subotic 49

Cottbus 0 TSG Hoffenheim 3 FT
Ibisevic 16 , 76
Ba 54

Karlsruhe 1 VfL Bochum 0 FT
Eichner 30

Schalke 04 3 Hannover 96 0 FT
Bordon 2
Kuranyi 7 , 64

Wolfsburg 2 Cologne 1 FT
Gentner 48
Misimovic 78
Novakovic 19

1.FCN shaded a 2-1 against Augsburg this afternoon - good atmosphere in the stadium and an attendance of 39,700 - not bad. That total will slide dramatically by Christmas I suspect.

Aren't Hoffenheim just a village team with money, though?

Anyway, a table about '07-'08 that I rather like

Bundesliga 38, 612
Premiership 36, 076
La Liga 29, 124
Serie A 23, 186
Ligue 1 21, 817
Bundesliga 2 17, 207
Championship 17, 028

Bundesliga > Premiership. Now, if only I could watch it on a regular basis.

The fact that it was possible to buy a season-ticket for the standing area in Nürnberg for a mere €99 would be one indication as to why that is.

More on Hoffenheim -

"The unthinkable actually happened on Saturday: TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, who were playing in the seventh division 18 years ago and became the smallest ever club to grace the Bundesliga, finished their first game in the top flight on top of the table (jointly with Schalke). Energie Cottbus, their hosts on Saturday, had sent them 1,500 away tickets. Hoffenheim sent 1,451 of them back, unsold. Yes, 49 fans made the trip to the east to witness a historic 3-0 away win."

How did Borussia Moenchen Gladbach do? I was born in Germany and my dad used to see them play in the days of Netzer and Vogts...they came back up this season having back relegated the previous season.

Lech Poznan will be the team to beat in this year's Polish Ekstraklasa. Otherwise league table after 2 rounds;

1 Wisla Kraków 2 6
2 GKS Piast Gliwice 2 4
3 GKS Bełchatów 2 4
4 MKS Odra Wodzisław Śląski 2 4
5 Arka Gdynia 2 4
6 KS Ruch Chorzów 2 4
7 KKS Lech Poznań 2 3
8 MKS Cracovia Kraków 2 3
9 Slask Wroclaw 2 2
10 KSP Polonia Warszawa 2 1
11 Legia Warszawa 2 1
12 KS Lechia Gdansk 2 1
13 KS Polonia Bytom 2 1
14 Górnik Zabrze 2 1
15 ŁKS Łódź 2 1
16 Jagiellonia Białystok 2 1

My team Zaglebie Lubin are back in the 2nd tier of Polish football following our demotion for match fixing. So far Played 2, Won 1, Lost 1 (Beat Widzew Lodz 4-3 before getting beat 1-0 against Stalowa Wola). We're still playing catch up with the rest of the league though as some sides have played up to 5 league matches already.

1 Podbeskidzie 5 13 6-1
2 Stal Stalowa Wola 5 12 9-6
3 Górnik Łęczna 3 9 6-1
4 Kmita Zabierzów 5 9 4-2
5 Wisła Płock 5 8 8-6
6 Warta Poznań 4 7 7-5
7 Znicz Pruszków 5 7 5-4
8 GKS Jastrzębie 5 7 6-6
9 Widzew Łódź 3 6 7-5
10 Flota Świnoujście 5 6 3-5
11 Tur Turek 5 6 6-7
12 GKS Katowice 5 5 5-7
13 Zagłębie Lubin 2 3 4-4
14 Dolcan Ząbki 4 2 1-5
15 Odra Opole 5 2 4-9
16 GKP Gorzów Wlkp. 3 1 2-4
17 Motor Lublin 5 1 2-6
18 Korona Kielce 2 0 3-5

On positive front, our new stadium is making nice progress, pictures below;

Starfish, how has Kuba started for Borussia Dortmund this season? The story of Hoffenheim is also a nice fairytale, you can see more about it in WSC or by reading Gab Marcotti's article below;

Widzew Lodz were Polish champions when I lived in Poland first or had been recently anyway - how the mighty have fallen.

To be honest, I don't really know. Dortmund won their first game of the season and I know he was playing but that is, alas, as much as I can tell you. Some slow optimism creeping back into Borussia though.

Off to see Greuther Fürth (10km from Nürnberg) against St. Pauli tonight (in the same league as 1.FCN). As far as I remember, we have some St. Pauli enthusiasts on the board or was that my mind playing games with me?

Anyway, here's a picture of the wonderfully named 'Playmobil Stadion'.
