From BBC Olympic commentary....

1536: In light of the success of yesterday's Redgrave/Inverdale/ill-fitting pac-a-macs incident in cheering everyone up on a gloomy day for British fortunes, I did have a back-up today in case it all went pear-shaped in Beijing. It doesn't look like I'm going to need it, but just in case you are in the remaining 3% of the population yet to see it, may I recommend you head to a popular video-sharing website, tap in the words 'mcclaren twente arsenal' and prepare for laughter-induced bellyache. I almost miss him. Almost.

Possessed by the spirit of Martin Jol.

That is painful to watch, but also kind of brilliant, its like watching Allo Allo.

I've heard it several times on 5 Live today, and the presenters have, to a man, been speechless with mirth. (Alan Green's reaction almost made me warm to him...)

Lee Evans, Billy Connolly, Bill Hicks (whoever floats your boat) have never been funnier. Terrific stuff.

To avoid further abject embarrassment McClown should simply shove his brolly up his arse and be done with it.

Aside from being very funny, and especially given that it's unintentionally so, it's just plain weird.

It really is unbelievable. Usually when a manager goes to a foreign country, he learns the language. Mclaren is too much of an idiot to learn dutch so he tries to pull off speaking english with a dutch accent, like no one would notice?
Honestly what an absolute tit.

" mashive underdogsh", lol. Idiot.

I can't stop watching this, what is he doing with his hands when he says " bigt gamesh"??????

Here's the link again.

Even better'n the accent is the garbled syntax, with the omissions of articles, dependent clauses left hanging and bassackwards phrasing ("Liverpool or Arsenal...I thought maybe one of them we would draw...ah, it is Arsenal, I think...one of the toughest teams...in the draw" --hah?).

You couldn't've scripted it that well. Or badly.
