The Mooney deal is being talked about on a Palace transfer forum (another CCFC fan moaning about a deal for £200k being struck today). If this is true then its likely that we have another striker on the way out. Rumour is that Doyle is on his way.

So string the two rumours together and you get....nothing really. Just have to wait and see.

cue CCFC desperation at lack of transfer activity between clubs, as if you werent happy enough receiving a quarter of a million pounds for a 26 year old CB destined for the lower reaches of english football......

By the new year there could be three ex-Readingers on Villa's bench.

I think Doyle should consider how much he wants to play football before going to Villa, as I can't see him getting in that team. Personally speaking, based on his current form over the last year I'd be happy to sell him for £7m.

I'd say the same if I thought we might spend the money on players for the team (3 top quality improvements to the starting XI at this level) but we won't, so I'm finding it hard to get enthusiastic about losing Doyle, tbh, whatever the fee.

the only teams that get to keep their best players at the peak of their gameare the top four, and looking at ronaldo-even then its not guaranteed

the rest of the clubs from everton/tottingham/villa downwards all buy as cheap as they can amnage, and end up selling at a high premium to bigger an better clubs if the player performs consistently

end of

moaning about it happening at reading is just daft IMO

Who is moaning? It's inevitable that it will happen, it's just a shame as on form Doyle is a brilliant player, an asset to the club, and to add to that, I'm disappointed because I know that any transfer fee we receive will not be re-invested.

Are you ok brendy, you've had a reet cob on for a day or two. The interview can't have gone that badly - have they let you know yet?

sorry!-i wasnt replying to you specifically-just happened to come under your post.
agree that we wont reinvest all or even most of it, but some will go back on players, and that that doesnt just goes to make us a more financially stable club-so ill settle for a mooney style replacement who we can sell in three years for millOLions

got the 2nd interview on on the 3rd of sept-so they must have liked me a bit
quite pleased really-i was thinking i may well be past it!

cob on?! LOL
nice phraseology

i guess i was so heartened to see the positivity on here after the plymouth game, and then slowly got more and more gutted as it phizzles away in the course of half a week-so yes , maybe i have had a cob on

i will endeavor to be more cheery from now on

thanks for the heads up

Cant see this happening now as it appears they are having Djibril Cisse on a season long loan

But they'll still need to sign someone who'll score the odd goal.... guess that mitigates against Doyle too.

One thing that is all but certain is that Doyle isn't joining West Ham as they do not have the money. So can we edit the thread title?

Cant understand Doyle going to Villa either - Carew and Agbonlahor are first choice . and Doyle is the type of player who would want to be on the pitch not bench sitting.

I thought that Hunt 2 was brought in as a wide player anyway, so Mooney joining would take us back to 4 strikers and keeping Doyle. I can see Doyle and Moony being our frontline. Coppell loves Doyle too much to let him go and Doyl eis a better all round player than any of the other forwards anyway
