I did read an interview with him last night on Sentanta, maybe its just media putting a spin on things again... Didnt he break into the Ireland squad / team in his original season with us? But new managers have different views.

peeping bernal Kitson was wanted out by the club as he was becoming disruptive, so they just hung on to get the best price possible, Doyle is a player they saw as the future for the club, hence the high price on his head and him still been here.

What are you basing that on?

What I heard, about third hand and pieced together from posts on here, was that Kitson got distruptive because he felt he was surrounded by, well, to put it politely, pricks who didn't care.

It worries me that we let him go ...

Are you peeping bernal then?? :? I can't keep up

I was just wondering if peeping had come to the same conclusion as a lot of others or if his information was a little more informed (i don't want to know "the source" as I hate that request, just an indication of if it's a conclusion or information)

nickbob_sexypants Doyle himself,

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_4029282,00.html, It could be that an offer will come in and Reading will reject it...

I saw his interview after the Ireland game and he said that he needs to play Premiership football to be in contention for the ireland squad - personally i dont agree, what other strikers do Ireland have that ARE in the premiership (bar Robbie Keane)

Daryl Murphy who plays for Sunderland came on for him in midweek, although I'm not sure how often Murphy actually gets a game for Sunderland. I should think that Doyle will be first choice alongside Keane regardless of whether he's in the c'ship or premier league. Unless they decided to play Duff up top with Keane.

Wow, one line taken from an article reported in the Express that can easily be used out of context!

If Keane's stupid enough to pay over the odds for Doyle then yes please.

Would like Stokes in part exchange though.

SC has just confirmed on the OS that Doyle is going nowhere. The player may "want" to go but RFC do not have to accept an offer and unless at the last minute someone offers "£10M or so - why would we accept a bid.

And realistically no one will pay £10M for a player who has scored once in 8 months. If Doyle goes it will be in January - hence why we have bought Mooney to give him 6 months to get up to scratch just in case Doyle or Lita go then.

Tbh though Coppell doesn't like players at the club who want to be elsewhere, for example Shorey.

Yeah because he only kept him around for 12 months after he made it pretty clear he wanted to leave

Why should he play if he has said things like this.

'I would expect something to happen before the transfer window closes'

How about you concentrate on scoring a goal so we can begin to expect promotion!!!

I would of expected these comments from Lita rather than Doyle

Lita and N.Hunt for me

Is that why he was still here for a whole season after saying that he would like to leave.. I think it depends on the player and how much commitment they are willing to show to the club even though they want to leave. Look at Sidwell he must have known for a while he wanted to try it at a bigger club, but still gave 100% to the club whilst he was here.

Teamtalk only take their quote from other sources, so they are just repeating what has been printed elsewhere, true or not. No doubt the quote, if correct, is out of context in any case.

Either that or he's off.

Again, Coppell Doesn't like players who don't want to be here and by the sounds of it Doyle doesn't. So I won't be surprised if he does go.

Jeez, how difficult is it to accept that given the choice the whole of this squad would rather be playing in the Premiership than the championship. Its doesn't matter what spin anyone else puts on it , that is the bottom line.

As far as the club is concerned the factors we need to consider are: Do we get our asking price ?, Can we replace the player ? & if the player does stay will they continue to give 100% to the cause?

No, he's said he doesn't like to keep unhappy players. Actions (Sidwell, Shorey) speak louder than words.
