1-1 at the Camrose. Good game played in an absolute monsoon in the second half.
Highlight of the day was the woman running the burger van who had her baby in a cot sat in the counter whilst she served customers.
I last went to the Camrose a few years back - Boxing Day game vs Magpies who though struggling badly won 1-0 on an ice-rink of a pitch.
It was one of my lads first non-league games. Whilst we were in said burger-van queue the ground suddenly fell silent and all of the serving staff there started weeping. My lad (not used to minute silences but a sensitive soul - unlike his Mum - bless 'im) as quietly as he could, asked me what was happening - he was at the front of the queue at the time - and thought he'd done something wrong!
Turned out the fellah that ran the burger stall had passed on, the night before Xmas and the staff there were his wife and kids.
Other thing I remember about the game was the Maidenhead keeper - huge African fellah, new signing I think - had obviously NEVER played on a frosty pitch before - but in spite of a few comedy moments played a blinder. I think he went on to higher things pretty soon after?

Oh and I got my footy fix this Sat at Colliers Wood v Ash Utd - good game 2-2 - may get over to Carterton tomorrow night to watch Little Drummer Boys' lot in their Hellenic League debut. Interesting to see if they can adjust to the new League - they've got a bit more travelling to do - nearest teams are Flackwell Heath then Hungerford - furthest is Harrow Hill over the other side of Gloucester.
Badshot Lea who went the other way in the summer, from Hellenic to Combined Counties, got beaten 6-0 at home by Chertsey!
