Idiots. Why would we want to get rid of our top goal scorer and one of our best defenders?

This mornings Evening Post :
' Ibrahima Sonko is available again, though, after serving a one-match ban and is battling it out with Alex Pearce for a starting role. '

10539.4 Miles Away
Yorkshire Royal Only guessing, but I would imagine the goal of the season is to achieve promotion...

And that exactly, is my point, we, as fans, assume that the goal is promotion but I genuinely can not find a quote from the management that states that. Coppell saying "he wants to put the relegation right" is the closest I can find. Really hope I'm barking up the wrong tree here and someone will put me right.

coppell and madejski both set out the aims in last weeks programme notes

Jeez. Top goal scorer at the moment? Do you really think that is relevant?

Royal Lady So, RR do you think the £2 million will be re-invested or do you think we'll be one body down?

whether it goes on a player, or on repaying a debt, or building a media centre etc
it all goes to the club, and puts us in a better position one way or another
coppell in the EP mentions we could still be in the hunt for a player or two
we have too many CBs and id prefer to lose sonklo for a good ammount of money and see alex pearce play some regular football this season.

glad to see it looks like karacan will play this weekend, hopefully anyway-if he is eased in, without too much pressure on the lad, i reckon hell make that place his own

But Coppell did say in the week that there were still a couple of players here that wanted to be elsewhere. He was one. One more likely to go - Doyle.

O'neil on the news today saying with europe he wants a good few more players.

C'ya Doyle.

Because he's not very good? He's not one of our best defenders either.

Thaumagurist* I'm completely stunned by this bit of news, I wasn't expecting this.

his statements earlier in the summer made it clear hed prefer to be elsewhere-and his improved performances recently seem to have been in order to get this move.
in those circumstances its daft to keep him on, unhappy, and ruining the squad togetherness
if doyle feels the same way id say well have to sell him aswell

We have actually only got about 3 days to get someone else in btw. Just in case that fact has slipped the minds of those of you who are sure we're going to get replacements in.

No, we already have a replacement - his name is Alex Pearce.

It all went wrong after his knee injury IMO

Sad news, but sorts out a selection problem I suppose.

Like Doyle's move is about to.

But we don't need a replacement for Sonko.

I'd still like a quality get stuck in midfielder.
