Kes The only way is down.

If we don't replace these plays with adequate quality, yes, you're right.

And at the moment, Coppell still prefers age and experience over the kids that might just make that difference.

agreed
if sonko were to leave i doubt pearce would get more of a chance in the first team
coppell would probably buy some cheap paddy or african

i also expect that once doobs and murty are fit again we won't be seeing kelly or pearce involved in the first team for a while

That's just an extension of the usual supporter's belief that the answer is always what isn't in the team eg. Hunt has two shit games in a row and the board is full of "why isn't Convey playing?" posts. Convey comes back and has two shit games and it's all "why isn't Hunt playing?"

All the bluster about the kids is the same - you give Karacan a start and he gets the run around from an experienced pro and you'll be on here going "we need men not boys. Why wasn't Harper playing?" etc etc

Honestly, it's a cycle that's repeated on this board week after week, month after month, and season after season.

Totally agree with that Maguire. Its probably the main reason why I dont come on here more often. It is always black and white to people - if a cross is blocked it is deemed bad play, if a goal goes one side of the post it is bad defending, if it stays out suddenly it is not an issue.

Add to that a group of people who go to nearly everygame who start watching with the attitude - Harper and Hunt are bad no matter what. Fair enough, Harper had a bad start to the season and when he plays badly he is so anonymous it is easy to question his inclusion, but Hunt has started brilliantly and been our best crosser of the ball - and not a murmur from the stands...

Could it be that all football fans are total imbeciles?

It's a theory I've been working on for some time now. The evidence just keeps mounting up.

Just answer the following question 'Yes' or 'No' and your theory will be proved.

Are you a total imbecile?

I totally agree with The Rouge and Maguire.

You can guarantee that if Hahnemann has a poor game tomorrow, the mongs on here will be going...'why doesn't Coppell play Fed.'

100% on point.

It's good to see 2 previously regular posters return (however briefly) and talk total sense.

Vision For me i think the issue is whether his relationship with Coppell is damaged beyond repair and if he's likely to return to anything approaching his best following his injury. My guess (and thats all it is) is that the mere fact that Duberry has been offered a year deal suggests the club aren't planning on keeping Sonko around.

.

Great! So we are going to rely more on Mr Injury Prone Duberry!

Good player but appears to have taken over from the likes of Little and Murty as Jon Fearn's most regular customer.

Still, more money in the bank for Ego Madejski. I'm sure his loyal subjects will rise as one to applaud him, should he have the bare faced cheek to step out and flap his arms before tomorrow's game!

brendywendy
Royal Lady We have actually only got about 3 days to get someone else in btw. Just in case that fact has slipped the minds of those of you who are sure we're going to get replacements in.

nope, since we dont need a replacement CB its not really a massive issue

but statements in the last week from the club saying we know those who may go, and we are monitoring players who we could get in to replace,
coppell today said they are still looking at one or two.

Actually, today on the OS Coppell is quoted as saying 'you always want two more'. Apparently he said that a few years back and 'that still rings true'. So why the f*** did he spend the whole of last season insisting that we didn't!!

Bye bye Ibu.

You were great for a couple of seasons but you were seriously found out when you came back from injury. Not sad about this one at all.

Hopefully a Pearce/Bikey double act will give us consistency, power and composure at the back.
