winchester_royal I'm becoming concerned that there has been no confirmation on either OS.

Nearly every Reading transfer gets put on the OS at about 5/6pm very rarely before. Always seems to go up on the site just as i leave work!

I'll be in the pub suppig on a delicious ale by then. :)

I'm well aware of our own site's incompetence. But Stoke's OS hasn't confirmed it either.

Concerned?

Are you sitting there with a furrowed brow, nervously rubbing your temples and hitting F5 every 30 seconds on Stoke City's website?

Just relax. All will be revealed shortly.

Sonko's exit is the most exciting transfer deal of the summer so far for me. 8)

Sonko will never be much of a footballer, but his heading ability and pace over five yards continually got him and Ingamarsson out of trouble. Following his injury these attributes have diminished making him vulnerable as a defender.

Even allowing for Pulis`s neanderthal ideas on the game, how even he cannot see this is beyond me.

I'm sure our guys are working really hard to put a fantastic positive spin on the deal and to explain why Coppell really doesn't need as much money to reinvest in the transfer market.

Wycombe Royal
Gordons Cumming Haven't Stoke just bought Andrew Davies from Southampton?

Do they need another central defender?

And they signed Faye from Newcastle.

Maybe they think they can play all of them to help get a few nil-nils

Anyway - it'll be good to see both Kits and Superman at the MadStad next season.........hold on, that would mean no promotion

I have not posted before as I did not want to count my chickens before they have hatched but as this has now been confirmed on OS I can have my say.

Sonko was great for us in the Championship and helped us get promotion last time. In the PL however he always looked a liability to me and after his injury he was even worse. I think he is great at Championship level but we need players at PL level if we are to compete next time we get promoted and Pearce and Bikey have more potential and Ingi and Duberry are more reliable.

This is a great piece of business for Reading IMO - even if the money is not re-invested.

Good luck to Sonks though - I wish you all the best at Stoke.

Of course they couldn't announce the deal as done until the deal was done but, given that the news of a likely transfer had leaked like a high pressure hose through a sieve, they could have acknowledged that the final moves towards a transfer were taking place.

The type of information that was circulating this morning was far more than idle media speculation. What's more the BBC aren't in the habit of making such definitive statements without something to back it up. So why the long delay from them publishing the news until the OS got the news out? They must have a computer full of pre-prepared spin by now so it would have been a simple task to cut and paste!

.

Please explain how it is a great bit of business the football club (not JM enterprises) if the money is not re-invested in improving our team/squad? As for Ivar and Duberry being more reliable - big question mark of the former who has often relied on Sonko or someone else to get him out of jail (primarily due to his lack of pace) and Duberry might be more reliable if only we could rely on him being fit to play on a regular basis (wasn't he carrying a slight injury when we signed him?).

So much for Coppell's hefty premium if a club wanted to sign one of our players after the season started!

Why would they need to? There's practically a party atmosphere on here already.
