Not good enough. Can anyone honestly say that he's better than Lita and N. Hunt?

He is an impact player. I have said it time and time again that when he starts a match for us he never does well. usually does well coming off the bench for us though. Loaning his out to a team in this division who are bound to struggle may be a good option.

He has pace & energy so he is probably best as a sub.

I think he could do with a season at a div2 club.

The fact that at nearly 22 years of age he is still only considered 'an impact player' says it all. Not good enough, very strange decision to start him ahead of Noel Hunt today.

I agree he is an impact player I still remember when we were cr@p away bolton he came on 15 mins to go and springboarded us to a 3 1 win, he still can jump incredinly high. But his touch is generally poor, and if he has lost a bit of pace as said then his impact will become less and less

Did anyone see what the Palace No3 did when they went 2-1 up today? he went running up to Long and got in his face. So Long must have been giving this guy a hard time?

He works hard and gives 100% but maybe he should have had a season on loan playing every week. However Lita has had his chance and now it is down to N-Hunt and Mooney to show they are better than Long, till they do i say keep him in the team

Hasn't Noel Hunt already done that?

Shane Long, another player Coppell is guilty of sticking by for far far to long.

Like Doyle?

The difference is Shane Long has never been good enough to earn that faith in the first place, where as with Doyle he had already been voted Championship player of the season before scoring 13 Premiership goals.

Like how many games has Long started in the last 18 months? Not exactly been prolific, so saying that SC has stuck by him is a bit dumb. Also, what do you want - a manager who gives up on his own players? You can have Paul Jewell then - he did it publicly! And that really worked!

Did anyone watch Noel when he came on?

He was crap, always offside, missed a sitter, couldn't control it when he would have been 1 on 1.

Maybe it was one of those days for him, but Coppell watches them in training and I trust him.

Long put in a good shift today, give him a break.

I think the whole of the RFC fan base was stunned today to find Shane in the starting line up ahead of Noel........... Longy needs 6 months on loan in Div 1 to get his confidence up........... but he can't go can he?...... Lita's off ( Hence why he played today) and did Long also play because Doyle is off as well?????????

Perhaps Coppell has confidence in N Hunt but needs Long to have more match practice .

Still Madejski will sanction the transfer of a £5K reserve Cork City Striker or........... will he go big time and allow Coppell to buy a centre half from Brentford for £10k (Subject to Doyle going to Villa for £8.5M and Lita to Charlton for £1.5)

Yeah saw that, he's a bundle of trouble, but a great impact player, just missed the big-time boat methinks.

He did that because Longy tripped up soares when he was celebrating. This made soares stumble and their team went a bit radio rental.

That is because Long is this weeks public enemy number 1.

It wasn't long ago that everyone was slagging off Kebe, apart from me and a select few.

Hunt meanwhile is this weeks superstar, don't get me wrong.....I rate Noel, but I just don't think he did well today, whilst Long put in loads of effort for the team, and it annoys me when I see everyone slag him off.

thought he did ok. got up well in the air. missed a couple of half chances - and should have gone for that mother of all volleys - but tried to control it and didnt. still better than Lita I reckon
