Streets We all owe so much to JM but he like 8 or so players want/wanted out and he too is now part of the problem.

SC also said JM's comments about selling up are unsettling amongst the off field problems we still have with another 2-3 players still wanting out.

He doesn't seem to want to invest anymore and as a result we are going backwards.

I still find it hard to accept we finish within a hairs breath of European football and instead of pushing on we end up back in the Championship.
Then we're told we do not have to sell and we haven't stopped selling our best players, with Doyle and Hunt still likely to go before Monday night.

I can't clap him anymore, I can't chant his name anymore and I certainly wont applaud him anymore.

I respect him for saving this football club in its darkest days and I've enjoyed the ride and been with him for almost as long as he's been here, but his heart isn't in it anymore and his feet are off the pedals.

Where are we heading? The next 48 hours will tell us.

Sadly if we lose Doyle and/or Hunt we are really screwed and this season will just be about blooding the kids and reaching mid-table security, hopefully with a new buyer on the horizon before JM costs us even further.

You can't fault what he has done here, the man is a legend as far as this football club is concerned, but he wants out, he isn't putting in the investment we need to continue our development and in fact we are seemingly going backwards still.

I don't agree with booing but in this instance, better boo JM than the team.

I'd still prefer we just turn around 180 degrees and not clap. Just fall silent. If enough do it he'll certainly get the message, and more effective than a childish boo.

Agree with all of that except that I wasn't aware that hair's could breathe. You live and learn.

Royal With Cheese Do you think he's finally got the message?
I hope so, him appearing on the pitch expecting us to cheer him every game is a bit old hat.

voice of reason
Agent Balti
voice of reason Your argument seems to hinge on the opinion that JM wants to sell the club to simply get rid because it is an inconvenience rather than to place it in the hands of someone more willing to inject from their personal fortune, which is what he has always said. He has always maintained he wants to sell the club, but only to a man he deems fit for the job and who would take the club forward. This doesn't mean he doesn't love the club and it certainly doesnt mean its a contradiction or two faced on his part to then parade in front of the fans.

My counter to that is that JM wants the sell the club to a mirror image of himself. And that person doesn't exist, not in this day and age.

I don't think that is true at all. I am pretty sure he has gone on record as saying he wants the kind of person prepared to pour their own personal wealth into the clubs coffers, something he is no longer prepared to do in the amounts neccessary to attract players better than we already have. I think most importantly its not a case of him being too fussy, more I would suspect no one wants to buy as at this present moment in time anyway.

Um...that's what I just intimated, didn't I? :P

Problem is, not appearing sends its own message. Moral of the story is, don't start in the first place. My advice for the next home game would be for him to come out and applaud briefly rather than waving.

[quote="rfc58"]Any business regardless of its nature is reliant on its paying customers, RFC are no different.

Any leader(s) of any business that doesn't at the very least "keep their finger on the pulse" of what their customer base is saying/doing etc, is playing a slightly risky game.

I don't think anyone has denied that. The issue is whether those customers are investors or stakeholders - but what would I know about that?

If we are now on the oft-quoted finacially good footing and are self-reliant - what exactly do we need JM for now?

To sell the club to the fans à la Barclona (or Ebbsfleet) hopefully? After all who could be a better owner with the interests of the club at heart?

After all if The Scousers can try to get the money why can't the affluent Thames Valley? http://www.shareliverpoolfc.co.uk/

The ideas good, but we could never raise enough money to buy and keep the club going!!

Thou Voice
Mr Madejski came on to rally some support and it was the same idiots that boo'd him that were also boo'ing John Oster.

John did not want to leave RFC, he was let go...
.

he was asked if he wanted to stay and he said no as he did not want to play someone where were he was being booed, fair enough to me

Was speaking to someone the other day, in the premiership, for every live game we played in we got £460,000 from sky, and we had a minimum of 10 a season. This year, at Charlton away we got £10,000 so we have to save money in other places

Royal With Cheese Are you struggling with the definition of the word think in the context of the sentence posed?
We're dealing with opinions, not facts here. This is my belief.

in that case you would of said "i think you're wrong" ......

Royal Lady Yes. I agree with that, too - but the fact remains it is NOT the fact we're selling off players who don't want to be here, it's the fact we're either not replacing them at all, or when we do buy a player, it's on the cheap. Isn't it?

That's probably how he thinks too. But as principal shareholder, he's not just going to walk away and leave a business that he still owns to be run down by someone else. He wants someone else to buy him out. It's really quite simple.

just to mention about oster

he got a few boos, but the applause for a player who was average at best was louder, so much so that he applauded the north east corner for their support

he gave his best, it wasnt good enough
didnt deserve boos any more than madejski

although madejski has done a lot for the club in the past (new stadium etc) he has openly admitted he wants to sell
if he wants out why does he continue coming out before the games and trying to milk applause from the fans?
he has now become part of the problem and the fans want him out so we can have a chairman who actually wants to be part of the club and will provide the manager with sufficient funds to get us back in the prem
