Bundesliga Friday-nighter between Eintracht Frankfurt and Karlsruhe postponed due to a pitch rendered unplayable as a result of a Madonna show at the stadium in Frankfurt. A frantic effort to repair the pitch and play the match as scheduled proved unavailing.

So I watch Heerenveen-Heracles instead.

1.FCN played Wiesbaden for the first time ever in a competitive game yesterday and scraped a 2-2 with a last minute second. Looks like we'll be watching the second league for longer than planned around these parts.

Its nice to see Chelsea top of the league by virtue of goal difference compared to last season when their negative style of play meant that towards the end of the season Man United had virtually another point.

Indeed, HaroLOLd, indeed. You really are becoming a tedious bore.

A quick history lesson for you: The reason we got relegated was because we couldn't defend to save our lives - we scored more goals than Wigan, Sunderland, Bolton and Fulham but didn't defend properly. Simple.

Chelsea on the other hand only finished 2 points behind United (and probably should have finished Bolton off on the last day of the season to finish level on points with United) but scored fewer goals and let in more. As such, they went into the last day of the season needing to better Utd's result or score 17 more goals if both teams won. Hence my comment about it being refreshing to see Chelsea casting off their negative-play-shackles.

I am drunk and having witnessed 1.FCN losing 0-1 at home against Duisburg, it's probably just as well.

Why the clown in charge is in charge, I may never know. 'I promise victory on Monday night!' - and now, by far the biggest club in this league is in 14th from 18.

Nacional top the league in Portugal. High up in the mountains on Madeira in the middle of the Atlantic their ground used to consist of one stand holding 3000. now they've built a monster opposite and it stands empty.

Barcelona 3-0 up inside 9 minutes, 3rd goal was a free-kick where the keeper wasn't ready and Messi knocked it into the corner. Atletico score from 30 yards out about 2 minutes later, Barca 5-1 up after about 30 minutes, Messi then gets the ball in his own half and beats 6 players before shooting wide, about a minute later he beats another couple of players.

Whereas in the Premiership we have Rory Delap.

It is --and it's on one of the satellite channels over here-- but the thing was like dude so totally over as a contest early on, and so I found something else to do.

Had instead it been the visitors 3-1 in front, I'd've stayed with it. Can't tell you just how magnificent it is to have regular access to live Spanish top-flight football, though.
