If Hunt shows an interest in wanting to go, surely we'll let him go even if it's just below £5 million, as we won't want another Shorey situation during the season if we're not doing well?

I can't imagine Hunt's attitude stooping to what we saw from Shorey last season, if he stays we have 100% all of him.

If I was JM I would be mailing some of these believers offering them X-Ray glasses that enable you to see through women's clothing, shoes that enable you to walk on water and a winning Nigerian lottery ticket - worth £1m but theirs in return for their bank details & just £500 processing fee.

For legal reasons I would, however, like to stress that I am sure that he wouldn't resort to such scams!

wallyroyal Apparently, Everton's 3.5mil bid was rejected just minutes ago but still plenty of time to go. Be a shame for him to move as he played well on saturday. Also, they still think Kevin Doyle will move to Aston Villa even though shorey thinks he won't:http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=836482

It'll kill us if he goes. Convey to rely on on the left. Great.

I suspect Hunt will be gone by morning.

Nothing like having your brother around to stop you sulking though. He's looked good since Noel's been playing for us.

Gordons Cumming Everton bid again, this time accepted. 4.5 million.

B*gg*r!!

Surely we arent that desperate for the cash, after all we aint going to be spending it - he has a £5m clause - at least show some gumption to get to that level!

RoyalBlue If Coppell and co are to stick to their word, then any bid for Hunt has to be at least £5M (what we are led to believe we have turned down before) plus the hefty premium that Coppell said the club would levy for any last minute deals. By my reckoning a hefty premium would be at least 20% so any bid below £6M should be rejected outright.

We won't have a choice but to accept a £5m bid if the £5m release clause is correct. That'll leave us pretty screwed. Wouldn't have thought we'd have time to sign someone permanently, may have to go back to Kieron Gibbs. He's just signed a new contract but I'm sure he's still available for loan. Hope it doesn't come down to this, but like I say, we might not have much choice.

Would be really unlucky if we lose him with so little time to sign a replacement. I mean who could have possibly foreseen this turn of events weeks or even months ago

The release clause would only allow Hunt to talk to Everton and we have to notify him of the bid. If we can't contact him until tomorrow because his mobile phone is broken then its a real shame

Probably the same Radio station that reported Shorey was at Upton Park last season
