What happened to Lita??? The Inquest

by loyalroyal4life » 07 Sep 2008 14:11

Thought i would ask and try get to the bottom of what exactly happened to Lita and him being subsequently dropped from the whole squad.

Fair enough if he was on the bench but he didnt even make the 16

My guess was (until SSC came out and said no bids were received) was that he was on the verge of a move and so rightly was not risked.

Any thoughts??

Long, Nhunt and Mooney were proven in training to be much better than Lita.
Oh, wait. Maybe not Long.

Maybe was close to leaving the club. Find it hard to believe it was because of any another reason and I would rather him than Long any day...

From the bench, Long over Lita any day.

Especially when the midfield is creating nowt from open play.

Who cares?

He's a Reading player until January at the very least and he now needs to get his head down both to get a game here and to earn a move elsewhere if that's what he's after. Either way, he needs goals.

Maybe he just didn't fit in to the squad in the circumstances. Why the need to see a conspiracy?

Pompey are broke, the won't spend £3.5m on a striker to sit on the bench. For the reserves.

I think it was just because he played so poorly in our previous matches.

If Long is so bad how does he keep getting so many international call-ups?

Rumours are rife in Bristol that he is about to go out on loan with a view to a permanent signing in January. Palace seem to be favourites. Certainly would explain why he was not played against them.

SC said at the Fans' Forum that the time had come when Long had to start delivering on his potential - and that for that to happen he needed to be given a run in the team. So from that I infer that it's make or break time for him over the next few weeks/month.

But SC is rotating the strikers so he can work out what is the best combination of them - and it looks like Lita's had his turn for the immediate future.

Because he's not very good. HTH

He'd be a lot better if his attitude was right and he stopped believing his own hype.

I'll stick my neck out as ever and say that Lita will be the difference between a decent promotion challenge and failure.

If we can get Lita back onboard properly he will be the star of the show.

I had heard a rumour that he had driven his hummer into the training ground and had made a huge donut in the pitch.

Big, nay massive, if.

This is his level. He should piss it.

If he doesn't, he has no-one to blame but himself.

If we set up in a certain way, Lita will top score. Marek playing through balls, with no need to worry about defensive duties because he has a reliable DM behind him. Odd how playing a defensive player can let a player score more.

If we set up in another way (ie the way we currently do) he won't but the other strikers will score more and we'll do better.

Agree completely. But if Coppell's prepared to give Long a run of games, why not Lita? Lita's potential at this level if far greater thatn Long, Hunt or Mooney, yet he seems at the bottom of the order.

So that makes you think there is a problem, then why wasn't he sold and replaced?

A partner for DOyle, who will score goals is our only worry with this squad.

Personally I'd give Doyle and Lita the next 5 games.
