Anyone out there old enough to remember Newport away when we set the record for 13 straight wins at the start of a season?

for me it has to be fulham last year, almost non stop chanting from reading station and all the way back again. the pubs were brilliant and in the stand was even better (shame the performance on the pitch wasnt nearly as good)

also watford last game of the season few years back..not sure whatyear exactly..any help? but the inflatables and beach day gear was even better than usual that dat with fans chanting "can we have our beach balls back"

derby last year was good for me...though that was the only away game ive ever seen us win..ironic really

floyd__streete Best ever Reading away support? 93/94 at Bournemouth in the final game after we had wrapped up the title was a blast, we had well over half the ground and was memorable for the infamous 'disallowed goal' scored by a Reading fan

I couldn't see a thing in that game and thought that we'd actually scored cos I didn't even see the fan on the pitch! Was an awesome atmosphere though and good fish and chips for lunch iirc.

Best memory of that was seeing tons of Reading fans before the game running between the two terraces after changing their minds as to which one they wanted to be in...

2004 I suspect. Although TBH I don't remember it being that good a match (Watford won 1-0 IIRC), but the atmosphere from the away fans was pretty good.

Yep, game we needed to win to possibly make the play-offs (think even if we'd won we'd have missed out) 1-0 Watford win scored by a very young Ashley Young.

That was 2005. The end of the 2004/2005 season, actually.

The last game of the 2004/5 season was Wigan away. Didn't a few of our players say it was watching the Wigan players celebrate that day was partly the catalyst for our amazing run in 2005/6?

Oh, yes, you are right. I forgot that the season 2004/5 is not on DVD and the fact that the season 2003/4 is the DVD before our championship winning season DVD must have confused me.

I'd like to give some praise to the lone Lewes supporter who went to watch them play our reserves. He seems to have enjoyed himself despite the 10-1 thrashing. There's commitment for you.

Yes. Can remember how, as we entered the outskirts of Newport, the locals came out of their houses and/or stopped in the street to stare as our massive convoy of coaches swept past.

I seem to remember a nervy start to the game until (IIRC) Stuart Beavon settled everyone's nerves with the opening goal.

Me too. What's more, living away from Reading and pre Hob Nob days, it wasn't until the start of the next season that I found out why the 'goal' had been disallowed!

Oxford away 98? the two dodgy keepers.
Palace away in the promotion season - Harpers leveller after Andy "dive" Johnson has scored the pen.
Milwall away 03 or 04? when Bas Savage gave me, to date, the funniest RFC moment of all time with his crazy legs.
Fulham away last season.
D&R this season just because it was like the bad old days.

Lots and lots of lowlights but one that pop up was QPR 0-0 a couple of seasons back. To date the most boring game I've ever seen us play in. Nothing happened. At all.

I still think that the word reasonable to describe the support is shocking. You have to support your team no matter what the score is and NON STOP.
you can hardly talk you have 5 people singing and banging a drum all game and no one cares anyway when were loud were amazingly loud when were quiet were shit

but u will always be shit because u will always and only have 5 fans that sing so please kindly oxf*rd off and go back to your shitty scours lane
Only when your winning and at least have more than 4 chants and funny ones at that and the Town supporters chant no matter what!!!

RG30 I was thinking yesterday about great Reading away days and the Newcastle Wednesday night one will retain it's legendary status for years to come. Anyone care to share other great away days they'll forever remember for any particular reason.

Wolves away on Boxing day in the promotion winning season is up there for me, the atmosphere was electric and when Blakey turned lescott inside out to cross for Kitson to nodd-in was one of the best moves of the season for me.

followed closely by Blackburn on the final day of our first season in the premiership, a real party atmosphere was had by number 13

The Bournemouth game was a great end to a great season, I seem to remember Reading taking over the town that day and the Poets Corner pub getting trashed in the process.

id prefer to have thousands of people to only sing when were winning then 4 little boys singing all match. because to be honest thats really sad 4 boys go to a crappyy reading town match jus to chant songs thinking their hard with their drum, just shows you cant afford to wacth reading play and that you have no life
