floyd__streete Best ever Reading away support? 93/94 at Bournemouth in the final game after we had wrapped up the title was a blast, we had well over half the ground and was memorable for the infamous 'disallowed goal' scored by a Reading fan

I couldn't see a thing in that game and thought that we'd actually scored cos I didn't even see the fan on the pitch! Was an awesome atmosphere though and good fish and chips for lunch iirc.

2004 I suspect. Although TBH I don't remember it being that good a match (Watford won 1-0 IIRC), but the atmosphere from the away fans was pretty good.

Yep, game we needed to win to possibly make the play-offs (think even if we'd won we'd have missed out) 1-0 Watford win scored by a very young Ashley Young.

Skyline The last game of the 2004/5 season was Wigan away. Didn't a few of our players say it was watching the Wigan players celebrate that day was partly the catalyst for our amazing run in 2005/6?

Jackson Corner Anyone out there old enough to remember Newport away when we set the record for 13 straight wins at the start of a season?

RG30 I was thinking yesterday about great Reading away days and the Newcastle Wednesday night one will retain it's legendary status for years to come. Anyone care to share other great away days they'll forever remember for any particular reason.

Yes. Can remember how, as we entered the outskirts of Newport, the locals came out of their houses and/or stopped in the street to stare as our massive convoy of coaches swept past.
I seem to remember a nervy start to the game until (IIRC) Stuart Beavon settled everyone's nerves with the opening goal.Bill Oddie's Beardfloyd__streete Best ever Reading away support? 93/94 at Bournemouth in the final game after we had wrapped up the title was a blast, we had well over half the ground and was memorable for the infamous 'disallowed goal' scored by a Reading fan

Me too. What's more, living away from Reading and pre Hob Nob days, it wasn't until the start of the next season that I found out why the 'goal' had been disallowed!
