Team for Swansea

by SCIAG » 24 Sep 2008 17:44

I'd like:

Hahnemann

Rosenior
Pearce
Bikey
Armstrong

Henry
Karacan
Gunnarsson
S Hunt

Doyle
N Hunt

Subs: Federici, Ingimarsson, Kebe, Convey, Mooney.

We'll get:

Hahnemann

Rosenior
Bikey
Pearce
Armstrong

Kebe
Harper
Karacan
Shunt

Doyle
N Hunt

Subs: Federici, Ingimarsson, Kelly, Convey, Long.

I wouldn't mind the second team tbh- I just want Henry in there!

Home, so same first team as against Sheff Weds.

If it was away, I'd be seriously considering playing Coppell over Kebe.

For me:

USA
Rosy
Armstrong
Bikey
Pearce
Kebe
Gunnar
Karacan
Shunt
Nhunt
Doyle

Subs:

Afed
Henry
Kelly
Harper
mooney

I think it will be the same as last week with Ingi, Gunnar, Long, Kelly and Afed.

Kebe was good at Watford. HTH.

A calm head in there.

Harper and Karacan I don't think are working as a partnership.

Did alright against Wednesday!!!!

There is ZERO chance Coppell will drop his Captain.

So do you think that Harper and Karacan are our best midfield partnership?

I am not convinced.

My thinking was that I'd like to see Gunnarsson in there and I don't want to drop Karacan.

Tbh I wouldn't mind Harps and Jem together again - I'm just thinking of other options!

Ahh that's a different question, original point was 'I don't think they are working as a partnership'

Well they've played 2 home league games won 2, smashed Luton, drew at Watford and lost at Ipswich. So the evidence is that it can work. Is it our best? No not for me our best involves Matejovsky somewhere but he's not available. Gunnarsson last time in this league was excellent, he'll get back in at some point. I've never been a big Harper fan, I wouldn't have minded he went in August but he's here, Coppell has made him captain so he's going to play. I really like Karacan, he is the future and needs to be perservered with. So by process of elimation that makes me select Harper and Karacan currently.

I see what you mean and I basically agree. Would like to see Gunnarsson starting at some point. And if not we have him as an impact sub.

He's just getting fit and no doubt in the coming weeks will get back in. Those in posession f the shirt, bit like the Kebe/Henry situation Henry did superbly well yesterday which makes everyone jump on the Henry bandwagon and yes Kebe has been indifferent at times (more so away from home) but on the whole he's been a positive of this early season. Again Henry will get his chance at some point.

Our team is starting to look quite strong for this division.

The academy players have really created a buzz around the place this season. Good on them.

I'd quite like:
USA; Rosenior, Pearce, Bikey, Armstrong; Henry, Karacan, Gun, Shunt; N Hunt, Doyle

I think we'll get:
USA; Rosenior, Ingi, Bikey, Armstrong; Kebe, Harper, Karacan, Shunt; N Hunt Doyle

I think a Gun + Jem partnership would work. Gun is a solid midfielder (albeit he's old) and Karacan gives our midfield that extra energy.
Sadly, I don't think Coppell will make any changes.

Agreed. Possesion is 9/10ths of the law. But if anyone can say that Convey deserves the wingers bench spot above Henry then its a travesty.

USA
Rosenior, bikey, pearce, armstrong
Kebe, harps, karacan, shunt
doyle, nhunt

bench: fed, ingi, bryn, convey, long

i would like to see henry and mooney on the bench at least but cant see coppell changing the team that much. also i cant see convey and long being dropped for those two
bryn in for harps might work but coppell is loyal to harps so his place is pretty safe

At home we are looking strong but away look like kittens.
On Saturday we are playing a really good footballing side that is a bit soft at the back and on Tuesday we are away to the club that probably has the best attacking options in the division.
If we get something at Wolves I will start to believe that although we look miles away from being a Premiership side we could still feature in the end of season play-offs.
