Stop worrying about the future guys.

Enjoy what is slowly taking shape here - an excellent attacking team capable of scoring more than 100 goals this season is being formed by our truly excellent manager.

If it gets broken up in January then have faith that he will bring in some other decent players to take their place. Just enjoy the ride.

Avon Royal LOL at anyone who thinks that Doyle or Stephen Hunt will be playing for Reading after January.

I think Hunt's clause will be activated.

I think Doyle will realised we're only going one way and stick with us.

Nah, that's just the way he talks.

This paper talk is all old news

I was in Ireland for a week during the international break and all the papers there were full of quotes from Doyle and Hunt saying they were looking for a move in January, Doyle particularly was quoted as saying that he was worried about how playing in the Championship would effect his place in the national squad, like he and Keane aren't head and shoulders above every other available Irish forward.

As an aside, I'll be amazed if Noel Hunt doesn't get into Trap's next squad when you consider the main competition for the third striker's position consists of Stephen Eliott, Anthony Stokes, Clinton Morrison and Shane Long who are all, let's be honest, a bit crap. The Irish papers were slating Robbie Keane's contribution after the Georgia game, suggesting that Doyle is the main man. I can see Noel being an excellent foil for Doyle at international level, especially considering they are forming a good partnership at club level.

what with henry coming through, i'm not sure that hunt's loss, though important, will cripple the team. Kebe looks every part a left winger to me, and we have convey there and henry on the right. I would think that his brother's presence may prove a factor; after all that appeared to be the main reason he bought him (Noel) in the first place

+1. Hunt and Doyle are very similar strikers, and so they know what the other would want them to do. Hence, they are forging a very, very profitable partnership. After the game, Hunty went over to Doyler on the floor to see how he was. I think that's a testament to him.

Was interesting to see in the programme N. Hunt's in Trap's "development squad" for a game against Notts Forest. Good luck boy!

Of course he will leave in January.

Let's hope this time the management realise it as early as everyone else and have a replacement lined up rather than waiting till he has actually left and having no time/inclination to bring anyone in.

The way that Hunt has started this season will no doubt create a lot of interest with Premiership sides that have shown an interest in him in the past, but good luck to the wee fella, he has been the brunt of many insults on some of these threads, ironically now he may be off in january, he is the sites "hero" !. Have always liked his massive work rate and enthusiasm he has earnt the right to play at the top level. It is now the time for the club to press forward with the promising start we have made to the season and if we are in the top two or threatening to get a top two finish to the season then he may have a change of heart and see the season through. Whichever way he chooses we cant complain as he has given everything for the team since he has been here.

Exactly. Also let us not forget that for the back end of last season then Hunt was poor. Players come and go all the time, we can't expect someone to want to stay at Reading for their entire careers anymore. I just hope that the money we receive if he goes will be spent wisely on suitable replacement. Bouazza anyone? Really impressed me against Charlton.

Footballers are so short sighted.

Kitson left to play prem football, but i fully expect him to be playing in the Championship next season. If Hunt goes, although Everton wont get relegated - will he be automatic first choice? Sidwell isnt first choice at Aston Villa.

He can say what he likes, but he has'nt played a full game in any league since leaving us. Im sure Hunt can better that, but why dosnt he just play in a good team, whom are playing well and try and achieve some thing with the big boys next year?

Kitson left after a poorish season with us last year, he's gone straight into the same dilema with Stoke - he's not going to get 20 in a season ever again. Was it really worth jumping ship? He's a pro, and he wants to be adored and score goals. He got both at Reading.

Forsight needed! I realise we are not the best paying club, but i genuinly feel we offer a bloody attractive place to generate a career in football with as many ups and downs as good times.

And lets be honest - though they thought it would affect their international call ups. It hasnt!

Hunt and Doyle playing week in week out at the same club has an effect on their performance for Ireland, add n hunt to that and the RoI could have their forward line plsying together every week at a good level, split it up, s Hunt to Everton, Doyle to an other and they might find that the parts are less than the whole, stick with Steve Coppell guys, he wont shaft you, will let you go if thats what you want but will back good footballers with the right attitude.
