SpaceCruiser Hang on a minute, Schards posted a knee-jerk post in the aftermath of the Ipswich defeat and said he couldn't see any progress. He even went on to say that he didn't think we would win an away game! So since that defeat, we're unbeaten in 4 games, scored 15 goals and conceded 2. And from the last two away games, we've had a win and a draw. So, basically, Schards is wrong to say that we won't be making any progress for the forseeable future. The team's immediate future looks good, we may make at least the play-offs. But his concerns about Coppell and Madejski are for next summer, let's just enjoy the moment, eh? If we do make promotion, that can only be a good thing no matter what Madejski and Coppell decides to do, surely?

hes already played his opt out cards by saying it wasnt knee jerk, it was a worry over the season as a whole, and no one result will change any of that etc etc........

I still think it's a knee-jerk post because it came after a defeat. I wonder if Reading had not lost at Ipswich, would Schards still have voiced those concerns about Coppell and Madejski?

Woodcote RoyalDenver Royal LOL at Woodcote and Rother giving it large. As if they have never been wrong.
No one gets everything right but it's Schards capacity to defend the defensible that's set him apart from most.

The 17 Bus In all fairness, there was quite a lot of concern about how things were looking, even before the Ipswich loss, I was thinking that by October we would know where the season was possibly heading, and thought that would have been a time to look at SC moving on, if things were not improved. We had a couple of injuries and the squad looked weak, after a few games it appears that the players are pulling in the same direction, and aiming for promotion, the injured players have not been missed like we might have thought, and we are on a good run.
So we seem to have team progress at the moment, will it last, who knows.
As for the club and JM, this is much harder to decide, JM is not going to walk away, only sell to a good buyer, but RFC is not that great a club, and there has been little interest that we know about, we seem to be financially sound, we did not break the bank in the prem, and we are comfortably well off at this level, 2002 seems a long time ago now, established at champ level at least, thats progress, and over a long term, I see no reason that the next 6 seasons cannot see more progress.

Bugger, that irony meter had only just come back from repair too.

Eh?
Can you substantiate that?
Schards#2 Do you guys actually acknowledge the existance of away fixtures?
Schards#2 the away form is dreadful
Schards#2 Even if we get some sort of away form together (unlikely)
Schards#2 We are currently 3 points above 12th and still the league insist on us playing half of our games away, starting on Tuesday.

SpaceCruiser on 17th September Schards, I'm very dismissive of your post because of your pathetic misuse of the word "firesale".
Right, that's my final, final post on this thread.
