One Beer is never enough. I thought Burnley were particularly poor, they never seemed to get a hold of the game, and we never had any need to get out of first gear.

After 3 games in a week, good to see we can beat one of the 'better' teams at a canter.

I wouldn't say Burnley are poor. They are going to be a hard team to beat for most teams this season.

I thought they were the strongest team we've played at home so far. They looked organised and at times were hard to break down. Not the best footballing side we've played, but certainly the strongest imo.

'greed.

They're a top 10 side in this division and despite it being a fairly subdued performance, we still put three past them. Clincal and workman like probably sum up our game today quite well.

Armstrong (8) - Shorey, who? Very professional performance.

I hope we are not going to have a season of silly comments like this.

FiNeRaIn 4-0 wolves.

thread opener gives hunt 9 and kebe 6

just cant go on from there

hunt had one of his poorest games for ages and missed a point blank header, dribling was all over the place first half

Still he scored a goal and put in a decent second half display. Leave him alone, he probably has the most assists in England so far this season!

not knocking him in the slightest, great player......

just didnt have one of his best games.... and he scored because a ball was given to him 4 yards out on a plate but that guy gets a 6.......

I'd give them both an average 7 tbh.

think you are missing a trick re SHunt. would any other player playing LM have been in the position to score that goal? Not a chance Convey would have been there thats for sure. Had we not gone 2 up at that point who knows which way the game would have gone? we were certainly 2nd best for 50 mins prior to that. You could argue that SHunt was out match winner today, even if he wasn't at his best.

Burnley were the best team at the Madejski this year, standing higher above every other pile of dross that has visited. Some decent passing, Eagles looked classy, could've got a draw had chances gone their way and ours not gone our way. We look clinical, early goals are regular and we never look like throwing leads away. Every ball into the box has 'goal' written all over it, I've cautioned against complacency from the start but if we keep these players fit we should roll over most teams at home.

No need for the diving (number 16), wrestling to stop a free-kick (number 10), or general twattishness from Burnley, referee was awful. Didn't pull up Burnley defenders for WWE moves on Doyle and Long but did stop play to book someone when Reading had a 3 on 1 situation in the second half. One of the linesmen (East Stand in the 2nd half) needs to lose some weight. at Paterson rugby tackling whoever it was who was clean through on goal, a video of that would be much appreciated.

Hahnemann - 7 - didn't have much to do, couple of decent saves

Rosenior - 8 - quick, strong, doesn't give the ball away/fall over anymore - probably good enough for Premiership
Bikey - 9 - far, far, far too good for this league. Almost felt sorry for the Burnley attackers.
Ingimarsson - 8 - reads the game better than anyone
Armstrong - 8 - Nicky who? Why did Sheff U let him go for 500k or whatever it was? :|

Kebe - 7 - quiet but his crossing has improved by miles
Karacan - 8 - simple but effective, won the ball more than Harper does in 5 games
Gunnarsson - 7 - see above
Hunt - 7 - same as Kebe, except did the 'head down and run' trick a bit too much today

Doyle - 8 - too good for their defence, too intelligent, too quick, too sharp even though he didn't score
Long - 6 - decent goal, still not convinced. Bit sluggish, doesn't seem to read the game well

id agree although im not sure what Kebe needs to do around here

the only low mark on that guys list...

makes pretty runs, no end product he gets abuse
2 brilliant assists ( 2 goals on a plate) and he still gets knocked

It's because people have such high expectations of him.

That's a fair point, it's a good sign if Kebe has a quiet game (doesn't go on any surging runs and beat 27 players) but still gets two assists. The fact that they were so routine made them even more encouraging, our two wingers must have a few assists by now. Little and Convey were so important to us in 05/06 as these two are now.

again im not knocking hunt.....

but missed the point can go around in circles

which right sided player have we got that would put two crosses on a plate other than kebe?????

you could argue Kebe was the matchwinner ... etc

Burnley clearly looked to stifle both our wingers today, whixh is why over the 90 mins both SHunt & Kebe didnt stand out.

But both still made the vital difference to the over result. 8 a piece for me.

its good to see that they and the forwards can cope with the extra attention theyll be getting from the opposition.

armstrong was improved yet again, and starting to look a threat going forwardkebe quiet, but still great
cisse looked good again when he came on, maybe ive been too harsh in my doubts about him at this level
really pleased for long, hopefully the goal was just what he needed and he can settle into his game a little now

you can see the way this squad play has coppell written all over it, with the wingers, and every players great attitude and effort
thats what will get us through the games that we dont play so well in over the season

While we are at it, the Kebe 'miss' was not relevant anyway since the lino was flagging him offside. Sorry to disappoint the anti -Kebe brigade.

Some players just can't do anything right. Guy next to me after Kebe gets the ball (having already made the first goal): "come on Kebe, you've done nothing today." Upon which Kebe crosses for the second goal. Two minutes later Kebe makes a minor mistake (mis-control or misplaced pass), guy next to me is off again: "ah, Kebe, you're useless!"

Thought the team did OK today; Burnley were far and away the best team to visit the Mad so far, with the players and game-plan to frustrate us, and the discipline to stick with it after going behind so early. So, we had to dig out a result today. I had a feeling there'd be a dip after the Wolves result, so I'm delighted we got the three points.

Not saying Burnley are a dirty team but we lost three players to injury today and I seem to remember that the last time we played them we lost a couple before half time
Actually I am saying they are dirty, well very physical anyway and the ref did not get a grip of the game at any point - he seemed to put up with a whole lot of verbal abuse as well
