I didnt hear too much booing, just a few people, nothing compared to abuse that john oster used to get, not to worry yet... 8)

winchester_royal There was no booing, however there were disgruntled noises, and rightly so.

Marcus is becoming a liability, and he needs to be replaced ASAP.

He is 36 now. That's old. Even for a goalkeeper, he should be thinking about retirement.
I hate to say it, I do.

So, Federici, step up. :)

CMRoyal
Focher Hahnemann has always been a liability, he just normally makes up for it with match winning performances.

:?: :!: :?: :!:

Not sure what the :?: and :!: are for

To say that Hahnemann has always been a liability is surely beyond question.
He has made many brilliant saves and is still doing so but when did he ever come close to commanding his box? He has never looked comfortable leaving his line and regularly struggles to get to the ball. Not just for the last two games but as far as I can remember
Would I drop him? I don't think so for now but the brilliant saves need to keep on out weighing the hesitance in the area

I believe he's 36. The great Joe Corrigan retired at a similar age. But Steve Ogrizovic was still between the sticks for Coventry City ay the age of 42 and Pat Jennings won his 119th cap playing in The World Cup against Brazil at 41.

Sure he's not a lad any more, but goalkeepers go on and on where players in other positions don't.

None of this excuses the ugly sound of booing one of our own.

winchester_royal FFS nobody booed him. Just annoyed sighs when he kicked the ball out of play for the 100th time last night.

+1 There was NO booing in lower west/north corner.

Thames I'd never boo my own players out of principle, but I'd encourage others to do so.

My word. A true HNA classic.

There should be at least one booing thread created per day.

There haven't been enough on HNA.

That's not sarcastic.

I think Marcus is approaching the end of his shelf-life. Sure people like James are 37 but they're a lot more physically fit than USA. We all see his stomach after every game!

Having said that he is still making good saves and has been great for us. I would definitely give him until the end of the season at the very least before we drop him. Whether Federici will step up or we will replace Marcus from outside is anyone's guess.

I do know one thing. Booing him is ridiculous. The only time I can think when booing was worthwhile was when Sonko gave away the penalty and got sent off against Portsmouth in January this year. That deserved a boo.

Shame this whole thread is based on an assertion that isn't true; there was no booing.

On the radio today the big man revealed the secret of his self confidence.
He contacts his mum who tells him "Marcus you are the best goalkeeper in the world".

Wow what a mum, mine usually calls me a lying little shit.
