rollsy As far as i am concerned kitson was a great servant for reading. I do think that 5.5m was far too much for him, and i must admit that him firing blanks for stoke is raising a smile on my face as i do think that he was prone to being a bit of a nob. do you think that this is justified?

Why would anyone laugh at him?

Shelf stacker to millionaire Premier League footballer.

He was great for Reading , and I used to enjoy and apreciate most of what he said to the press, but he did stick his neck out. The drink/driving conviction was the end of him really. He was intelligent enough to know that he'd become a hypocrite. He was really undermined by that.

to a degree-Yes. no goals scored to date this season is a pretty pathetic effort in my view. More fool Stoke for paying 5.5 mill for him. After Doyle, probably the best bit of business the club has ever done. I wouldn't mind betting it was him and Lita who were causing the alleged unrest in the dressing room last season. Still, I won't forget what Kitson did for Reading but safe in the knowledge that we had definitely seen the best of him.

Already I think Noel Hunt is going to turn out to be an even better player than Kitson and prove to even more of a bargain buy in the current inflated market.

personally i thought Kitson was a helmet. The FA cup rant, his reaction to ginger day, his drink drive conviction and rumours of dressing room unrest led me to believe that.

For some reason im not laughing at him though as he gave me many happy footballing memories, and was a bloody good player for us.

I have nothing but good memories of Kitson. He was obviously a knob, but at least he was a character, who spoke from the heart rather than coming out with the same mundane crap. I'm still laughing at him, though, because I am not a nice person, and believe that being at Reading FC should be the pinacle of every footballer's career

At first I was wishing him all the best, now I find myself pleased its all gone a bit pear shaped for him.

A good footballer, who always manages to say the wrong thing, not a grea choice of new club but good business for us.

I suppose if they manage to stay up and will have been the right choice unless of course he hasnt played many games.

He's probably viewing his latest bank statement and having a little snigger at us.

Wizard Don't think there's any reason to laugh at Kitson. He wanted a season of Premiership football which we couldn't give him, and that's the bottom line.

yes but he was part if a team that was relegated, therefore he isn't really good enough to be in the top flight is he.

And Reading FC are probably laughing at the £5.5m in the bank, so basically everybody's happy. Now let's all go and hold hands

i think its time to drop the bitterness towards the players that left.
its a bit sad really, especially as most of them were some of the best players weve ever had.
little, shorey, sidwell and kitson were awesome for us, consistently for years, and got us up top the prem for the 1st time ever.
i myself have felt the urge to laugh as they dont play, or do play but look terrible
and it just makes me appreciate the management here even more that they got such consistent performances out of them for so long
its time we just let it go man,

lets call an amnesty

I tend to support Reading FC, so I don't really give a shit about Shorey, Little, Kitson, Sonko and Sidwell unless they're playing against us.

I can see you point of view though and I hope Stoke get relegated as I hate their fans.

The only players I hated for leaving us were Craig Maskell, oh and to a lesser extent Simon Cox, because they joined the SCUM, FFS!

Saw Ian Rush at OT a couple of times when i was a youngster, absolutely everywhere. One of the few things i'll agree with VM on.

I don't think Kitson was that hard working was my point. Certainly in his last months with us.

The best team I think is correct and perhaps that is where the main strength of the players was. Maybe, just maybe, the players were/are not as good individually as they themselves thought.

Kits never let us down on the pitch. He believed he would progress his career and earn more money with a move to Stoke. I can't think of many people if any who wouldn't do the same if it were possible.

As it turns out we haven't missed him and we got a nice profit.

Good luck to him.

Was and is a legend. For his part in THE team, for his outspoken attitude (sometimes wrong, always interesting), for his park-to-millionaire football journey, for the fact that he tried to entertain, tried to go beyond the ordinary. I'm sorry that it's not working out for him. I'd rather see Stoke 20th with Kits on six goals, than where they are with him struggling. Still, the cash must be a comfort...
