If he was off in January Cork wouldn't agree to that.

As I've said he's not going anywhere in January anyway. He'll stay till the end of the season at least.

None of this convinces me he's guaranteed to stay in January.
This is just RFC with its sound financial head on ensuring that when he does go it will (hopefully) be for a monster fee that won't be eroded by having CCFC take a big slice.

Interestingly the statement on the OS simply says we have paid the final amount due as part of the transfer. It doesn't say we have bought out any buy back deal.
It could simply be that there was a payment due on scoring 50 goals....

I think more logical that they had a sell-on clause if he moved within his original contract period, which converted to an additional payment of some kind if he signed a new contract with us. Although now i think of it, this contract is actually his third with us, so I could be talking absolute rubbish .... just for a change
