700 sold for cardiff... that is embarrassing....!

by Garrincha » 21 Nov 2008 12:15

Out of 2000 allocation to date we have sold 700! (only 3 days to go)

Perhaps we should stop giving the large when it comes to away supporter's at the Mad Stad.....

This game may be on a Tuesday night but surely being one of the more accessible away games we should have a better showing than this????????????????????????????????????????????????????????!

Times are hard. Away support is likely to drop for the forseeable future.

Garrincha but surely being one of the more accessible away games we should have a better showing than this??????????

More accessible how exactly?

1. 2 hours down the motorway makes it as "accessible" as a lot of our fixtures this season.
2. There are no trains back to Reading after the game
3. STAR coaches leave around 3pm IIRC
4. Midweek away games are never as attractive as weekend away games.

Add that to the fact that we've never had the best of away support in terms of numbers and that Cardiff have a "reputation", 700 is around the number I would have expected to make the trip

As for "giving it large" - IIRC, the only team whose supporters have been derided for their lack of numbers is Donny - and I agree that was a joke seeing as they brought more to the MS than we will take to the Keepmoat. Derby were "re-taunted" following their criticism of the MS being a small ground (and I can't think of many (if any) other instances this season).

Next.

Considering that due to us being Promoted this season it could be the last time we play Cardiff in Cardiff for a while.

Take a half day.

OK, I might be able to make it, but...

Will I still get a seat on the STAR coach booking at this late hour?
If I go for an "adult - seated" ticket would I be on my own?
What is this 'reputation' that Cardiff have?

I guess, I don't use 'em, call and check.

Don't understand that question.

Cardiff City have a huge chip on their shoulder, they don't even like each other, Which is typical of the area and the Country.
Some of them get drunk which fills them with enough aggression and confidence to attack anyone they don't know or like.
I don't think even shouting 'Robin Friday, Robin Friday, Robin Friday...' would help you as they run towards you, mob-handed with the Heddlu looking on smiling from the sidelines.

Since when has a cup match been in the top two tiers?

Depends how you read your statement.

If you had said "Last chance to stand legally at a ground for a game in the top two Tiers of English footbal - at least until the law changes" then it would have been clearer.

As it is "at a ground in the top two Tiers of English footbal" implies that the gound may be in the top two tiers but the game doesn't necessarily have to be so.
