PEARCEYSpaceCruiserVilla encouraged in pursuit of Reading striker Doyle
15.10.08 | tribalfootball.com
Reading striker Kevin Doyle has welcomed interest from Aston Villa.
Doyle is top of Villa boss Martin O'Neill's January shopping list.
The Republic of Ireland star said: "You know what you have to do to get back to the top level."
No, they aren't you fukking twats. What a stupidly misleading title to an article that doesn't really say a lot. Those fukking chumps.
Hope your right but I expect Villa will sign him come the New Year.

gazzer, loyal royal i think coppell may sit him and down and explain that if we are still in the run-in for promotion in jan he won't be allowed to go. However, if we fail to get promoted then he can go at the end of the season.
I'd be more worried about hunty leaving than doyle

andrew1957 We cannot begrudge him a move but if he carries on scoring for fun I hope we hold out for £10M. Why accept any less as he is still in contract for another 18 months.
I also hope we then re-invest at least half of it!

£10 million for a player that has only scored in three games out of eleven, in the Championship, seems a lot to me to be honest...

Yeah but in those 3 games he scored 8 goals. Which shows - with the right supply, he Can do it.

westongeezer The rumour i heard, no what i heard on Talksport and read was the a 7.5 mill deal involing the exhange of Marlon Harwood as part of the deal, crap tbh why would Harwood drop a league, and i can see Doyle coming off the boil again after Dec like normal

andrew1957 Mirror makes up more rubbish rumours shock!
Why would we let KD go for even £8M when we don't need the money and promotion is worth so much more.
Also why would Doyle want to go and have ton face yet another relegation struggle - my bet is he would rather play for us in the PL next season. Or else he will take a move at the end of the season if we don't go up - there should be no shortage of takers then.
