RFCBoy So back to cardiff we go in the 3 rd round. Will be a good test for the youngsters to see what they are made of.

No.

STFU alex. i think it will be a good test for our youngsters. its an intimidating place to play

Calm down

It'll probably Karacan, Federici and Henry.
Possibly Kelly and Goldbourne.
We know what they can do. It'll be other players like Long, Mooney, Doobs, Murty, Gunnarsson, Convey.
I doubt it'll be a good test for our youngsters who have already played in games such as Stoke.

Don't knock the kids! They all but won it up at Stoke in the Carling Cup. If Lita hadn't missed his penalty...

Hark at you lot dreaming of decent ties when you all know full well that Reading will always draw a team from their own division, most likely away from home. I don't even get excited about the third round draw any more to be honest.

I should've put money on this!!

There I was a few weeks back debating whether to go to the league game or not. I decide I should because it'll be my last opportunity to go there!! So there I am handing my moolah over at the Ticket Office and the thought crosses my mind that we might draw them in the cup! It'll never happen!!

In, by the way!

This used to be a fantastic day for me especially when we drew Man City away in the 3rd round in the late 60s and as a 3rd Div club got an honourable draw.
Now I couldn't give a toss because the club doesn't give a toss.
When you hear how £80,000 of TV revenue means everything to some of these little clubs I get annoyed at the way we treat the competition.

Last year and the year before in the Premiership we were told that league points are everything.
This season presumably we will be told that because there are so many league games to play we have to protect our players from fatigue.
How far down the league structure do we have to go before we put our first team out when (if we were that low) we would have no chance of winning it?

Look how close Cardiff came last season.
I suppose it's all because we are a wealthy club that we don't need the money a successful cup run would bring but maybe this season with our chairman claiming that we are impoverished we might even give it a go but (worse luck)I doubt it.

You know that 'we effectively have two first-class teams at Reading' don't you?
