Hoop Blah readingbedding So you're suggesting that we should have had a consolidating period this season, get rid of the old, expensive players and replace them with younger players?
Every day a squad ages...but anyway.
Who would you have sold?
No I'm saying that over the last 18 months I'd like to have seen more progress at improving the side and effectively replacing the aging players. I still think there is room for it within the squad now too.
To an extent it's happening with the likes of Rosenoir, Cisse and Bikey but I guess I just have issues with some of the players not being up to replacing those that have left/are getting older/I don't see them progressing to that level.
I'm more thinking of my general perception of whats happening with the club and some of the players. I just feel that we're treading water until Coppell and/or JM leave us.
In the meantime the team are getting great results though, so it's obviously either in my head or not having an impact at the moment on the pitch.
Fair enough, I think the Club have done excellently not to feel sorry for themselves after relegation, to get the staff and players to commit for one more year.
The fans can, as is evident all over this forum, but they can't play football so it has no bearing on the result.
What I totally disagree with is the notion that we are somehow treading water with Coppell in charge.
We have a very good chance of going up.
If he would have left in May, I doubt we would have done.
If he had, perhaps the rebirth or whatever you percieve generally within the team would have started?
Everyone knows it's one year, give it our best and if it ain't enough (which I believe it will be enough) all the 'old, treading water crap staff and players' can phuck off go so we can get better, younger players/staff/chairman and manager from somewhere.
Piece of cake really.
