LOL at anyone who thinks we'll buy anyone of note in January other than in reaction to a "name" leaving.

andrew1957 Found the Sky sports link - it says 3M euros which is now about £2.9M. A nice little profit all being well.

Sounds like great news but can we believe this? I thought he was out of contract in the summer and therefore we'd get nothing.

Three mill for a piece of dead meat sounds too good to be true.

I think Fae signed on a 3 year contract. It would be great to recoup the transfer fee for an unwanted player. Call me pedantic but €3m is nearer £2.7m at the moment  - but would still be a great deal for RFC and a good deal for Fae and Nice. He left the French league for a fee of €3.7m

Well spotted. I had meant to write 2.7M and must have made a typo. I am astounded it took so long for anyone to notice. Normally the slightest error is pounced on and the writer instantly discredited. Thank you for pointing it out so nicely. Happy Christmas.

Of course once you factor in the bank fees for converting the amount to GBP its about £6.52

RG30 You need a bit of luck in football. It was only the first day in March this year Fae was due to be on the bench for us at Middlesbrough, then he's contracted with malaria following his African Nations stint.

But catching malaria wasn't bad luck - it was due to him failing to take the correct preventive medication, which is another example of the lack of professionalism he showed whilst at Reading.

With regard to the size of the transfer fee, I believe that it was a condition of the loan deal to Nice (although if the deal has gone through now, it's not quite as I'd heard it).

'greed with Mr Angry. Plenty of people on here that question Hammond as DOF but his nouse in the transfer market is outstanding, no wonder Arsenal tried to snaffle him a few seasons back.

Wasn't it last season that Arsenal tried to nick him?

Surely the finger of blame should be pointing at the Cote d'Ivoire doctors for that? I'd certainly not take any old medicine if I was a pro sportsman, no matter how trivial - remember Alain Baxter?

Don't care, would rather it goes into preventing the club being hit by the recession

He had the correct stuff and had been taking it, but stopped doing so after arriving back in the UK when in fact he was meant to continue to do so for 10 days or something like that.

Buy all the oil possible and store it under the car park. Price is bound to go up sooner or later in the next 20 years.

nah the future of energy is in those new speed bumps that generate electricity. oil is finished. actually you could buy a hundred of those for 2.5million and stick them all around the stadium...
