player marks from the telly

by Chaney » 20 Dec 2008 14:57

Fed 8, remarkably underworked, but what he had to do he did with confidence, distribution different class to Marcus
Rosy.8 played his part in a superb defensive display
Doobs 8, won everything in the air, partly at fault for the equaliser
Inga.8 cool composed, Brum didn`t get a sniff
Armstrong.8 Nicky who?
Henry.7 very good 1st half but disappeared later on
Cisse.9 I don`t care what they say on the box, my MOTM
Harper .7 improved for me in the 2nd half
SHunt. 8 never stopped running, impressive
Doyle.9 held the ball up, always a worry for Brum
NHunt . 6 brief appearance, but got us on our way with a great FK

Subs
Long.7 what he lacks in hold up skills a makes up with plenty of determination

Anyone who marks NHunt below Harper is either blind or mental.

Fed 8 distributiuon awesome
Rosy.7 very good, strangled the wings for brum
Inga.8 dived in after cisse lost it, but otherwise superb
doobs8 shouldnt have backed off philips, but otherwise immense
Armstrong.dealt with almost everything 7
Henry.7 some great runs, couple of great crosses, especially the drilled ball across the 6 yard box we should have scored from
Cisse.8 awesome, great goal, and all round performance, but dwelt on the ball for the equaliser
Harper .7 some darned fine pointing, harrying, and square balls, kept it ticking over
SHunt.7 work rate superb, but couldnt trap a bag of cement first half
Doyle.9 ran and ran, was useful all over the pitch, and the best headed goal since that one by brynn in the championship
NHunt .7 great free kick, unlucky to be forced off by temporary blindness!

Subs
Long.7 did some good stuff today
brynn 6-solid

Fed 7 Did nothing wrong, brilliant distribution
Rosenior 7 Reliable, defensively sound, linked well with Henry
Duberry 8 Superb defensive marshalling, won everything in the air
Ingi 8 Great match partnership with Duberry, never panicked he is Mr Reliable
Armstrong 7 So solid, how did we get him for such a small amount, bags of energy and effort
Henry 7 Very impressed, confident when in possesion, good crosses, hell he could be good !!
Harper 7 Ran his legs off in midfield, important interceptions, but must find his man when he passes better than today
Cisse 8 One mistake, but, so solid in the middle great header, good tacking, very strong, hard to knock off the ball
Hunt S 8 Ran and ran and ran, constant thorn to the Birmingham side
Doyle 10 Cant fault him in any way, he is priceless, great energy, good goal, great cross I could go on and on...........
Hunt N 7 Not on very long, but great goal and his normal up and at 'em performnace

Long 7 Able replacement for Hunt played well, no real chances but always made himself available for the ball
Gunnar 7 Another Mr Reliable, comes on calms everything down

fed - 7... looked very comfortable and assured...great kicks!
stretch - 7 ...good going forward, and solid defensively
ingi - 7 ...bar the ridiculous attempt at a clearance late second half, solid at the back.
doobs - 6.5 ...didnt look comfortable and should have closed down phillips for their goal.
rosenior - 8 ...great performance. i cant remember one mistake.
s.hunt - 7 ...did a couple of silly passes but good assist for doyle, and looked lively.
harper - 8 ...organised the midfield. good simple passes. great performance
cisse - 8 ...would have got a 9 if it wernt for the goal. good interceptions. looked comfortable on the ball and still got forward.
henry - 7 ...when he was involved he put some peachy crosses in, and great skill and ball into the six yard box second half...we still miss kebe tho.
n.hunt - 7 ...great free kick, wasnt on long enough to make more of an impact.
doyle- 9 ...led the line superbly, great assist for cisse and great goal.

subs
gunnarsson - 6 - looked alrite for the short time he was on
long - 6 - touch is horrible, but made some good runs

lol dont know what game you were watching but anyone who gives harper a high score after he gave cisse a hospital ball which caused him to lose the ball and us subsequently loose a goal is crazy.

It wasn't a hospital ball-he had plenty of time to move the ball on but was outmuscled-did you see the look on Coppell's face?
If we are to have any chance of survival in the Premier League (If we get promoted with this squad)nobody will be able to dwell on the ball like Cisse did.
He made up for it though today with a good header from a marvellous Doyle cross.

even so, it wasnt the initial pass that caused him to lose the ball was it just his own dithering
harpers ball was sent and received well

but carry on using it to pin an unwarranted slagging onto harps thoughif it makes you feel better

will do and you can carry on defending a player who was the cause of the pass to cisse and who had an average game at best.

Harper was excellent today, by far the best central midfielder on the pitch.

Cisse had plenty of time to get rid of the ball. But instead he lost the ball after taking one touch too many.

How can you possibly say it was Harper's fault?
