John 3:16 Has no killer instinct like Leroy.

Does Leroy shoot rabbits in his spare time? If so, how would this killer instinct be of any interest to us?

Long might be flattered by his No3 striker tag but at least he's guilty of scoring the odd goal in a Reading shirt.

Lita's last "effort" for us involved blasting a pen over the bar and sculking off as if he couldn't give a sh*t (or, perhaps, pondering what he might buy with a large wad from a far east bookmaker)

Money for Leroy would be nice but if we have to tie his lead to a tree in Prospect Park, that's fine, too.

Betting that someone wins on penalties is surely quite ridiculous...

I see your exaggeration, and to a certain extent I agree. However, I still think he's a better striker than Long, as his scoring record for Narch (7 in 14, they're low bottom half) proves. His goal today sounded a peach too.

Unfortunately, I think it's gone too far, and he won't be here much longer.

Personally I hope he sues the *rse off you for that highly libellous suggestion.

And, of course, Lita has scored far more than the 'odd goal' in a Reading shirt but you just prefer to ignore that don't you!

I find it so funny the amount of people saying keep Lita. HE IS OUT OF CONTRACT NEXT SUMMER!!!!!!

Even if RFC offered him a new contract do you think he would actually sign?

He will either be sold in January or go on a free next year.

If they need a striker, let alone a Championship striker, then Shlong isn't their man. But I'd be happy to drive him there. I have friends in York so could make a weekend of it.

£300,000 seemed quite cheap to me as well, but anything now is better than nothing in the summer.

Is there anything in it for Lita to go now for a fee? Could he get a better deal in the summer after a free transfer?

He's holding all the aces to be honest.

He's found some form at Norwich, if he chooses not to go to any club that RFC accept an offer from he can hold on to the summer. If he's a free agent he can negotiate a better signing on fee as his new club won't have paid a transfer fee. Even if he chooses to stay he's pretty much guaranteed football as there'll be teams queuing up to get him on loan.

Yes we all know he is out of contract in the summer. So? He might just prove vital over the second half of the season if Doyle or N Hunt gets injured. If he then leaves on a free in the summer then so be it. The benefit of vital goals and Premiership riches for the club would far outweigh selling him for a small fee in January

for a player in his last window
who wants out, and is well known to have had problems here
300 k is fine
or if he wants to run it down and go on a free, take him back as 3rd choice here till the end of the season
either way really

Except the bridges are burnt. He doesn't want to come back and earn his place and he's been piss poor in our system for a long time.

Doyle was using your terminology "piss poor" fo a long time as well. Kitson was "piss poor" in the second half of last season as was S Hunt.
Lets look at Lita's overall record. It shows he has an outstanding goalsoring record...and he has been in and out of the first team for a long time now which accounts for his lack of goals in the last 18 months.
You may be right. Bridges may be burnt. I would like to know how some of you are so sure of this though.

It tells me he was excellent in the cup and for two brief periods in the league.

Doyle has done it consistently in 2 1/2 seasons. Kitson the same.

It's a shame, but it hasn't worked and we should be saying goodbye gracefully and buying a decent replacement. Not desperately trying to cling onto a player who has blown massively hot and cold and doesn't want to be here or fit in.
