Mega LOLZ @ this whole thread, have you people really not learnt what happens in football now?

Did you actually watch the programme? I know you've jumped on this as another opportunity to belittle / patronise those who you deem take things too seriously (is there an irony in that by the way?), however, it was pretty embarrassing stuff.

He wasn't just saying he wanted to leave, he was pretty much pinpointing the type of club he wanted to join (basically a big club, competiting for Europe, but not one of the traditional 'big 4'. I took it to mean Villa, Everton etc). I was watching it with a number of non RFC supporting mates, and they were all saying that they would not be happy if that was one of their players.

It's one thing to want to leave and leak little things to the press and so on, it's another thing to go on a mainstream football TV show and basically issue a come and get me plea in front of the nation's football fans.

I'm not going to lose any sleep over it but it was a little distasteful.

Doyle is a legend on and off the pitch.
Hunt may want to move on but he clearly gives 100% with amazing effort every time he pulls on a Reading shirt, so he is ok by me.

As fans we all really want to see this team get us back into the Premiership. However, the fact is if a club like Everton come in for SHunt then he'll be off like a shot, without a thought for RFC and the relegation that we're trying to put right. But you can't blame the player for that it would be a great oppotunity.

However I totally agree that Hunt has gone out of his way to mention a move in virtually every national media interview possible this season, which I find disrepectfull to Coppell, who lets face it made him what he is today.

Michael Kightly is being courted by several Premiership clubs, but all I've heard him say is how committed to Wolves he is.

Lets just hope Andrew Surman is being lined up now.

I basically agree with you. If Hunt (or Doyle) go to one of the supposed 'second tier' of prem clubs i.e Villa, Everton or possibly City I wouldn't be upset with them. If they go to Stoke, Hull or Wigan I would be disappointed. Should Shunt be flaunting himself in the media? No. Would I do it in his position? Possibly yes. It depends on the person.

And I think we could replace him. I like Surman and I think there are other good players out there. However these players would probably take time to bed in. In saying that Armstrong and Noel stepped up to the plate well enough. Maybe at the end of the day, Shunt leaving would affect the team most in terms of morale. He is in some ways the heartbeat of the team and people like Doyler and Noel like having him around and know how he plays.

If Hunt was to leave, it wouldn't exactly come as a massive shock given the clause in the contract. And for that reason you would like to think there would be a contingency plan. And that plan should involve someone that can slot straight in to the side. Anything else borders on negligence in my opinion. Which is a management issue (or club issue) rather than a player issue, whatever the rights and wrongs of Hunt's one man advertising campaign.

I'm a little late to the debate admittedly. To be fair to him, he puts in a decent free kick.

Apart from that, he's an over-rated player that the journos still like to single out as our great player. Bollocks. Home and away I wach him... home and away he still flatters to deceive.

Sell him now whilst there are still Premiership managers out there that still believe the hype.

I must admit I have done a complete 180 over Hunty.

Last season he used to be one of the players I disliked the most, his crossing was absolutely abysmal. This season it seems like he went to “Crossing school” and his set pieces have been brilliant. I think he is overrated but he’s set up so many goals (I think most assists in the country!), you can’t knock him.

Birmingham was a typical e.g. He didn’t play that well but who cares if he sets up goals (primary job of a winger). I’m still unsure about his crossing on the run, I can’t remember many goals he’s set up from open play?
