Being at the Simod Cup semi final against Coventry when the game finished so late it was the latest finish ever to a game in this country at the time
The Simod final itself
The Millennium play off final defeat to Walsall
The game, I think it was against Hull when we drew 0-0 and got relegated in 1988
The Thames Valleys Royals merger game when we won 2-1 at the Manor Ground and King Kerry scored from the spot in 1983
The 14th league game in 85-86 which we didn't win...it was 2-2 with Wolves. We had won the previous 13 (none of which I had attended).
Will add on the the game Archie scored twice deep in injury time against Wolves but it wasn't exactly historic
The 4-2 League Cup win over Wolves...that was certainly historic because Parky scored with a screamer which was rare in itself
Our first ever point against Everton at Goodison in January 2007.....oh and Sylvester Stallone was on the pitch that day!!
Probably our worst ever result against Walsall losing 6-0 at Fellowes Park back in Feb 1986

A bunch of rough-as-fuck Ipswich fans chasing me and my friend down the Tilehurst Rd outside Elm Park, circa 1997. We'd had to stay late to retrieve a confiscated Michael Jackson CD

Although the 6-4 at Exeter resulted in a win,the 7-5 at Doncaster was funnier even though we lost

Mark '30 pieces of silver' Mcghee being attacked with an inflatable frog with his face cellotaped to it on his return elm park! The game was called off and about 50 or so royals fans waited outside the back of the ground just to smash his car up!

Memory's a bit hazy on this one but ... sometime in the late 70s/early 80s ... an evening cup match against ??? ... 0-3 down with about 20 minutes left ... winning 5-3 in extra time. Anybody fill in the blanks?

That must be the one I also remember!! I'm sure Kerry Dixon got a couple in that game. If it's the game I remember.

So, from the looks of this thread I'm not the only person who missed the 4-3 against Plymouth then?

Anyway, on topic

Frank Richardson coming on to the pitch before possibly the last game of the (original) record breaking season
The ridiculous 3-3 against Crewe in the pissing rain where Asaba scored a hat-trick (I think) in the only decent performance he put in as far as I remember
The Sunderland fan scoring their only "goal" in the 4-0 demolition the season they completely bossed the league
Ian Richardson attempting to score a spectacular og every time we played Notts County at the mad stad

To be fair, Asaba played a blinder in said Sunderland game too IIRC.

82/83

The group cup quarter final had paired reading at home to watford, who were second in Division One when they came to elm Park. A virtually full strength watford took the lead through luther Blissett after only 3 minutes and although gary donnellan equalised, John Barns scored two second half goals. With 4 minutes to go reading were still two goals behind when first peter Sullivan(who) and then Donnellan scored to mtake the game into a most unexpected 30 minutes.
Donnellan and Dixon scored in extra time to make a 5-3 victory for the Royals.

Bits from Heaven on Earth there.
