looks like Rosenior back-headed the ball into Chopra's path, which explains the lack of an offside flag

Don't think it does, he was offside from the origianal pass (twice) and it looks like there was a push in the back as well.
Still its all academic and without it we would never have had A Fed up for the corner.

the offside rule has changed now, and players aren't offside until they actually become active in the play, which is why you get so many "late" flags these days - until the attacker actually gets in possession, you don't get a flag.
Had Rosenior missed it, he probably would have been offside. The fact that Rosenior wouldn't have known that, and he had to try and do something, makes it a pretty silly rule in my book.
But it's true, without it we wouldn't have had Federici's goal, and we'd have probably been moaning about a crap 0-0 draw and there'd be a 19 page thread about how we really are rubbish now that we've been "found out".

You can't tell from the replay whether he was offside for the original pass, because you can't even see Armstrong on the clip, and the angle is too acute to really see whether or not he was in line with Ivar. I'm certain he was in line with Ivar when the ball came off Rosenior's head, which is academic anyway, as it's been pointed out.
