PLAYER OF THE SEASON - SO FAR

by runrunrunrungilksey » 30 Dec 2008 12:14

As we fast approach the New year, who has been your player of the season so far and why?

I'm going for N Hunt! runs his heart out for the team and has placed his body on the line a couple of times this season! :D

I know this may sound a strange choice, but I've gone for Chris Armstrong.

I think he's settled in really well, and replaced our previous 'big name' left-back almost seamlessly. He's consistant, gets stuck in, and also shows a lot of quality on the ball which at first I didn't associate with him.

If you remember our first few games before he came in, with Hunt at left-back and Convey on the wing, we were incredibly unbalanced and were somewhat lacking.

As with the last thread, I voted for Doyle. I await Platypuss changing it to a vote for Cisse.

Sure we've had this already?

Same answer as before, Kevin Doyle because without him Reading would be about 12th.

Kevin Doyle by a country mile.............but I also think that Chris Armstrong has been a revelation at left back, replacing Nicky ?? now what was his last name ???

don't think anyone voted for him last season either. I am sure Marcus was the POTY but the club gave it to Hunty in an attempt to get him to stay

Armstrong gets my vote - has come into the team, not caused a fuss and got on with his job - a real team player.

I love Kebe, there's a buzz goes up all round the stadium when he picks up the ball and runs at the opposition.

The buzz goes up in anticipation of Kebe actually running with the ball rather than falling over it, leaving it behind or miskicking it!

Obviously Doyle.

Bikey a clear 2nd - to my eyes he is clearly one of our 2 best players and, despite the occasional lapse, has shown himself a top class defender (at this level). It is surely only his recent absence that has "lost" him votes....

Mind you, I'd have thought Hahnemann deserved a berth in front of Gunnarsson and Matejovsky...
