Arch Remarkable how many different Bury games are mentioned here. Last time we had this thread I figured out mine was Bury too: 0-0 in 1972.

The day I got married we lost at home to Bury.
The day my brother got married we drew at home.
The day my niece got married we lost 7-5 at Doncaster.
Fortunately my two kids got married in the summer.

Reading 2-0 Gillingham (I think it was 2-0).... 1987, Trevor Senior scored one of the goals. I was 11 at the time and mostly remember the halftime pastie!

A couple of years ago I was fortunate enough to chat to Trevor Senior whilst celebrating clinching the championship v Derby and he was able to recall the game in quite some detail, Dean Horrix was the other goalscorer on the day.

I got the impression you could ask Trevor Senior about any game he featured in and he'll be able to recall it in detail, especially if he was on the scoresheet.

I cannot recall my first game but it was against someone like Barrow or Workington in the old Div 4 around 1969/70 ish...............I think.

I was def a regular by the time we played Arsenal at Elm park in 1972.

When I first started going I stood in the town end as it was cheaper. If it started raining I used to pay a transfer fee of about 5 or 10p to move to the luxury of the South Bank!

By the way I have hair and it aint turned silver yet!

My Dad took me to the first ever 4th division game at Elm Park. We beat Chester 1-0 with Terry Bell scoring with a header at the Tilehurst End. Stood by the half-way line on the South Bank. I remember asking my Dad if there were any action replays (Look, it was 1971 and I was 8 years old and I knew jack sh1t!)

I was there - not the wedding, the 7-5. It was 5-3 to Donny after 35 minutes

LoyalRoyalFan Reading vs Bury - 24th October 1995 was the first game i can remember.
However the match was abandoned.

If that was the league cup tie I remember it well. There was a downpour of biblical proportions. Ark Royal travelled up from Butlins in Minehead for the game. Funniest part was him borrowing some of his uncles clothes to drive back in as he was so soaked!

Reading 3 - 3 Port Vale. 1995.

Lee Nogan hat-trick in the first half.
Vale score three second half. All goals at the far end - bugger!

Had gone along with my brother and his mate, and stood behind the goal at the Tilehurst End.
Looked across at the South Bank and thought - "I want to be in there!"

It was in the days of the member cards, so the next tickets I could get was the 2-1 win over Charlton later that season.
Adie Williams scored the headed winner from a corner right in front of us! Brilliant.

From then I was hooked. I'm in the late-starter category!
Until then I was just into American Football.

Couldn't get tickets for the playoff final, as I was living in Norfolk, and the phone was CONSTANTLY engaged!
Watched it in a bar in Gt Yarmouth.
My trainers were Reeboks, and because they sponsored Bolton, I threw them out of the window of the car on the A47 on the way home!

My first ever game was a year before - Cagliari against AC Milan, in Sardinia, with Gullit scoring the equaliser for Milan.
I was in Sardinia with work for two weeks.

The wedding was in Oxford and I was walking round the streets of Headington in agony (major back problem).
Didn't make the reception.
Drove as far as Abingdon with my son in the car both of us feeling low and the car broke down.
Went to sister-in-law's house and waited for the RAC (sister-in-law was at the wedding but a friend was baby-sitting).
Still in agony,drove home later.
Just over a year later had back surgery at Southampton General.
About 15 years later my niece got divorced.
Shame about the marriage, shame that Kerry scored 4 and was on the losing side.
The only good thing was that my niece's husband was an Oxford United fan.

Around 1966 - Can't remember the dates .... saw Maurice Evans, Dick Spiers, George Harris, Arthur WIlkie, Mike Dixon, Douggie Webb all play. Me and a few mates from primary school went to watch the reserve games at EP as well 'cos it cost next to nothing to get in.

Home to Tranmere in 1994. We lost 3-1

I remember Tom Jones scoring after Jimmy Quinn missed a header.

Broxroyal 196..? Not sure of the exact year, perhaps someone could tell me. Home to Oxford, Pat Terry put us ahead but we lost 2-1.

Thanks to those who have pointed me to soccerbase. I believe this must have been the 1966/7 season.

New Years Day, 1992. We played Swansea, and I think we won 1 nill. Can't remember the scorer though?

I was eleven years young, and remember going to that little caravan/shop by the southbank and buying a photo of Danny Bailey and Keith McPherson. They were the only 2 they had in stock!

It was my first ever match anywhere and I remember asking if they played commentary out loud on the speaker system......

That was, I believe, the first defeat at Elm Park that year. Hate Ian Muir to this day!
