Well deserved.

Put a lot of his money and more importantly his time back into the local and wider community.

Now, how about a song

My daughter's doing the same job in the Evening Post that Sir John started out as.

Will she now become a Dame?

Thoroughly well deserved and not a bad bloke either. When the RTGs are removed and consideration given to what he has put in to the local community... Shame there aren't more people like him.

Archie's penalty Congrats Sir John. Still reckon the stadium shouldn't bear his name though!

Should the town rename Palmer Park? This was given by a benefactor and no-one seems to mind.

The only negative in this news is the fact that it's taken so bloody long! Great news for a top bloke who fortunately doesn't listen to moaning clowns who'll never know better.

Dont agree with his politics but it still is a long time coming, hes given us a team and a stadium that I,standing on the Elm Park South Bank for the first time in 1970,could only dream of.Hes also a decent bloke and promotes our town at every opportunity.Has one member said,Coppell should be next

Congratulations to Sir John.

This is a long overdue award. I have checked the honours lists for some time now expecting to see his name, and, whilst far lesser men have become 'Sirs', John Madejski has been passed over.

The range of his interests and enthusiasms are enormous. How many other football club chairmen have also supported the arts, business and education in the way that Sir John has?

He is not the only self-made millionaire in Britain but he must rank as one of the most generous. Others, who have sat on their piles of money, have watched the value of their investments tumble in the past months. Sir John's investments in the community, locally and nationally, will contine to give benefits and pleasure to people for many years to come.

Oliver Holt Congratulations to my favourite club owner, well-known benefactor and self-publicist, John Madejski, for being knighted in the New Year's honours. Does this mean Reading's ground will be renamed the Sir John Stadium? I do hope so
