Holt must be so morbidly fascinated with all things great and Reading he gets his inspiration from HNA.

And despite the knockers - well done to Sir John of Madejski manor.

Bling bling merrily Sir John
Even though he wants to sell us
Bling bling were all really chuffed
But I Bet that Cillas Jeolous

La la la la la la la la la la la la

Johnny Johnny Show us ya gong
Johnny Show us ya gong
========================

Personally I have always felt that a knighthood should automatically entitle championship chairmen receiving the honour with:
a)10 league points;
b)The freedom to streak naked across the pitch to celebrate injury time winning goals;
c)The chance to play in goal for wolves at any point ;
d)Get out of jail free card.

Lad done good.

Don't agree with the whole system (Chris Hoy gets a knighthood for riding a bike and getting paid for it,civil servants get the only true inex-linked pensions so why do they need state recognition? etc.,etc.).
Having said that ,as the system exists, well done to Mr Reading who has done much to promote our town over the years.

Congrats Sir John, well deserved recognition for a self-made man.

Favourite Sir John moments? The pub outside Tranmere's ground erupting as he did an impromptu meet-and-greet ahead of the 2-2 draw on route to squeaky-bum-promotion 2002. Also, leading the singing stood on a bench in the Purple Turtle after Leicester promotion 2006, twirling his scarf above his head :lol:

My favorite John moment walking past me sat down in the hotel he walks through into the conference centre with a beaming smile looks at us and goes "we've just signed John Salako" then stands and talks to us about the club for half an hour.

Very well deserved honour, especially in funding a failing school and helping turn it round as a result.

Would have got it a couple of Years ago, but, ironically, didn't do so because of the cash for honours scandal - ironically of course because of his own personal politics!

As for Oliver Holt; his snippy and vindictive article says so much more about him than it does Sir John - peace and goodwill to all men??

Merry Xmas Sir John.

About Bloody time, we all know he'd have got it two or three years ago if his budies had been in power. About the one possible good thing that would have come of it IMO.

Very pleased he's finally got he award he deserves.

It was the third worst in the country before he funded it, wasn't it?

Fourth worst now :lol:
