 at anyone who thinks Armstrong comes close to Shorey. Very good player, solid defender, but nowhere near Shorey's level. Nicky was far and away our best left back ever, and probably will be for some time to come. Same for Little.

My vote? Cisse.

Chris Armstrong - showed his potential at Burnley away and continues to remain solid.
N Hunt - for his sheer guts in outdoing Ivar in the brain damage stakes when going for goal.
Doyle - thankfully playing to his potential.

I put Doyle, but i was considering Kebe or Cisse because they've improved so much. But Doyle has been amazing, and consistent, so hes by far the best of the season.....so far.

I voted Armstrong as he reminds me a lot of the Shorey we once had not the imposter we had last season. He is great signing (along with Noel). I used to really rate Shorey but since the England calling he became Billy big boots and lost it. I can't forgive NS for that,at least Sidwell played for us until he left.

I love Kebe, there's a buzz goes up all round the stadium when he picks up the ball and runs at the opposition.

The buzz goes up in anticipation of Kebe actually running with the ball rather than falling over it, leaving it behind or miskicking it!

You're Mr Synical right?

I voted for Kebe as well. He is improving all the time, and that poster was right about the buzz around the stadium.

So it appears that votes are not always cast for BEST player of the half season then, rather one for most improved / most surprising contribution?

Interesting. I wonder if that is that how people vote in the actual end of the season poll?
