Norwich City have had an offer to keep Leroy Lita on loan until the end of the season rejected by Reading.

The Canaries claim to have made a "very good financial offer" to secure the striker's services until May.

The 24-year-old is Norwich's top scorer this season having taken seven goals during his three-month loan.

Manager Glenn Roeder told BBC Radio Norfolk: "We are still attempting to make it happen but they are not interested at this moment in time."

The Canaries cause may not be helped by the fact that Lita has already spent time with the club.

He would only be allowed to sign a deal until the end of the season, giving Reading no right to recall him.

The Royals would however have the right to bring him back after he has spent 28 days at a different club.

Roeder admits that may make a deal unlikely: "We are at a distinct disadvantage at the moment unless Reading decide that if we are going to let him out on loan we may as well take a loan fee for him."

Lita's contract with Reading expires at the end of the current season.

This week against Cardiff will be Lita,s chance to prove himself, if he does i think we will be him and he will at least get a regular Sub place.

If Lita doesnt prove himself though i think he will go in Jan!

Roeder's covering his back by the sound of it. I wonder how much this 'substantial loan fee' amounted to. I think RFC ought to say. If they don't i'll probably be able to find out on Monday.
