Fat Leather Jacket Shane Long really needs to leave this club and find his fortune elsewhere.

A spineless performance from Reading today, whoops...Lita offside again.

the welsh commentators thought he played quite well today, getting into good positions and "nice touches"

I thought Lita sounded quite good today

Much better than Long sounded. i have always backed Leroy and hope that he comes back and apologises for actions on the pitch (by scoring obviously )

Steve Coppell played in 3 FA Cup Finals for Man Utd during his career, he managed palace in one as well, but it is fine to deny the first team at RFC the chance to progress if they have the ability.

All this stuff about saving the players for the league is bollox, at the moment taking the total games played they are earnign a fortune per game played.

Don't see many comments on here saying how tired Cardiff will be next week!!

I think they are both decidedly average - I hope we see a decent forward signed in the Jan Window.

As much as I like Coppell his reserve team cup selections every year really gets on my tits.
As the chant goes, we've never won f**k all - a double negative but I digress - when exactly are we going to win something if we don't put out our best team in the cups? Is our only aim to finish mid-table in the Prem? That's the best we can hope for in the league, let's face it, so the cups are our only real chance for serious silverware.
Cardiff made the final last year, what more motivation is needed.

FiNeRaIn well done reading and especially coppell. We are not arsenal, our reserve team is not good enough for a result at cardiff. Deserved loss and this is what happens when you devalue the FA cup. Pathetic.

Agreed.

100% agreed
One of the things that really piss*s me off about Coppell

At the moment i thin i would rather see us win the FA Cup than get promoted
That would get us more recognition

I'd like both - the two are not mutually exclusive.

I couldn't really care, in the last few seasons the cup has seemed pointless and does not have any of the magic it used to have.

Im sick to death of us disrespecting the cup competitions, bullshit to Coppells explanations that hes just utilising the squad, whats wrong with playing a mixture of first team and reserves rather than a team that would struggle in league 1? we are a team with no ambitions but to yoyo between the leagues

This match has made me more worried about losing S Hunt, Doyle or any of the first team.

Tell that to the Pompey fans at Wembley last season, who have this season enjoyed a bit of European action too.

Blame the sides who put out reserve teams instead of taking the cup seriously.

Agree totally, it's pathetic the way the club 'appear' to value the FA Cup, and as usual we got what we deserved, nothing!!

Oh well, at least it will prove to Coppell that half of this squad aren't actually that good.

And just think that we don't have to worry about a fixture backlog or increase the risk of suspensions and injuries. Do we really want to be looking at the possibility of playing something like 6-7 games in a 14 day period towards the back end of the season???

You have to ask why though?

Isnt it partly due to the likes of us following the lead from the big 4 and devauling the competition by fielding the type of side we did today?

Looking ahead, we need Derby to lose in R4, as we are due to play them on the date of the 5th round. Plymouth and Barnsley are thankfully out.
