TBM Downing has handed in a transfer request at Middlesbrough - he'll be a Spurs player soon

West Ham have rejected the claims that Man City are set to sign Scott Parker for £12m

According to SSN just now!

Bridge for over £10m is a joke.
Parker for over £10m is a joke.

Neither are worth these price tags, and neither are 'world class'.

LOLz

If Bridge was joining say, Everton he would have been around £6m-£7m but as City wanted him Chelsea bump the price up....'greed on Parker, no-way near worth £12m

Bridge is a good signing in my opinion, he'll benefit from first team football in my eyes.

I agree that the transfer fees are inflated, but when money is of no matter then City will pay whatever is required for a player they want.

Mark Hughes has admitted that they will have to pay above the going rate for any players they want because of how much money he has to spend.

Bridge is a very good player IMO, good signing by Man City. Can't even remember the last time I saw Scott Parker play so no idea about him.

I personally think they're both the sort of level of signings that City need. As has been said before, no 'world class' players will look twice at the club in their current state, and therefore they need experienced Premiership players who can get results, and I think both Bridge and Parker tick those boxes.

It'll be a few years yet before City become the juggernaut that they're tipped to be, and it will be through gradual change and improvement rather than an over-night spending-spree.

No truly World Class player would want to go to Eastlands at the moment, and anyway, all of the very best ones are playing Champions League football - why swap that for a relegation struggle?**

IF City survive the Summer will see the influx.

(**Apart from £150K a week of course!!!)

Hughes future will depend on whether or not the powers that be at City agree that it's going to need a gradual build.

The fact that they managed to get Robinho in might well work against that as they could just have the attiutude that if you can get Robinho why can't you attract anyone else?

Because Robinho was absolutely desperate to go. Superstars desperate to ditch places like Madrid to Manchester are rather thin on the ground...
