Games you can remember because they were so boring

Think you may be confusing that Oldham game with one 2 seasons later. The one you allude to was the 1-1 draw in Sep/Oct 99, and John Polston scored in a ridiculous minute of injury time. Oldham took the lead with about 60-70 minutes played, at which point I got up and left, one of the only times I've ever done that. Caskey missed a first half penalty, and the rest was just sh*t.

For boring, what about that game at Elm Park in the mid-90s that was only relieved by the old duffer who fell asleep with his pipe in his pocket? The mass evacuation of the Main stand represented the only action on the pitch all afternoon. IIRC we lost 1-0 with a last minute goal. Notts County?

What's more, Uwe's goal celebration lost its way completely and he ended up doing some sort of arm round the head thing that would have embarassed Depeche Mode's David Gahan.

At the end of the game Balbo Boskobobbins or whatever his name was (tiny serbian or somewhere like that striker?) came round the corporate bit and I thought he was a waiter and asked him to get me a pint of lager. He didn't.

That was truely dire. So bad, in fact, to this day my memory is convinced we lost 3-0.

So dire that the fans in the southbank decided to jump over the barrier and pick up pieces of the turf to toss at each other....

One shot on goal, whistle had already gone for offside.

Highlight was the 10 header head tennis in midfield.

I think there was only truely one, maybe 2 efforts on target in the entire match. I also took a neutral friend to this match who has not bothered to see Reading play since, it was the most boring game ever.

However, Reading 0 Luton Town 0 Boxing day in 95, maybe 96 deserves a mention, but we did hit the post in that game, but it was still a crap match.

Christ I remember that game. (Boxinbg Day 94). It was the one after we'd tonked Wolves 4-2 the first game after FSB left us. The WOlves game was live on TV and I watchd it with my 2 boys. They were so impressed they asked me to take them to the nexthome game. They were 5 and 3 at the time, so I got tickets at the front of the Norfolk Rd stand. The kids were bored senseless. The younger one was asleep mindway through the first half, whilst the elder managed to hold out until after half-time. Quite how they turned in RFC nuts is beyond me after that!

Reading 1-0 Luton League Cup match, think it was 2005. Game was one of the worst matches in sport, let alone for Reading. An Oster free kick where he crossed it in, missed everyone, including the goalkeeper to trickle in, and Eric Obinna's debut which saw more offsides in one match than Nicky Forster accumulated in a season (which was a lot to be fair!).

Reading 0-0 Plymouth also comes to mind, where the highlight was watching a guy in a Bill Oddie mask dancing and 'the chant' which you all know. May be mistaken but I think Sonko had to deputise up front for the remainder of the match .
