FinalLITAy

by Millsy » 09 Jan 2009 22:04

Finally what I've been harping on about relentlessly has happened and surprise surprise the kid scores within minutes of coming on. We finally have a squad with serious competition up front, and serious bite off the bench. Hale-flipping-llujah!

As I've said all along, if we're to remain a threat we have to hold on to genuine first team competition like Lita. Who knows perhaps it's what put the fire into Doyle and Nunt to be goalscorers too.

Although to be fair to the "Long is good enough too" brigade, he's also done not too badly lately.

Let's hope we can hold onto both for the run in.

They're both back-up Championship strikers which are disposable when we go up. Simon Cox is probably better than either of them.

I disagree. Quite massively.

Took his goal really well.
Good to see him back.
Has Leroy burnt his bridges with Coppell...well maybe. Maybe not.

Give me half the pitch and I'll score against Watford. He's proved nothing except he can finish a one on one unchallenged, which we all knew he could anyway.

Good to see Lita get a goal today. You could see what the game meant to him when he came on, even at 3-0 up and he was so happy to score. Bridges burnt? He looks like he has a point to prove.

Its all about confidence.

Tell a potentially good player he is 5hit constantly and he will fulfill your expectations.

Leroy is a bling kid and needs instant gratification - if he gets dissed he will f up.
I had given up on him but hey - he has shown his potential with Norwich and scored tonight - great reception
Promotion looms - place your bets please.. :D

I would have thought a one on one with half the pitch spare was Lita's least speciality. He's more of an instinctive finisher in my book, so well done Leroy.

Simon Cox is playing against lower league defences - and I am a great admirer of him, by the way.

Think his celebration for the goal said it all. So what if it was a one on one. How many would have caned him if he hadn't put that one away.

He was buzzing when he came on. Knew he had a point to prove.

Buzzing so much, that he gave the ball away with his first two touches.

He looked as dangerous, albeit against a poor Watfor side, as I've seen him since that flurry of goals in 06/07. Welcome back Leroy. Lets save money and keep him.

Scored with one of his touches.
So it's ok with me.

Exactly what I thought.

Fair play for scoring though.
