HH = Makin. Reliable and versatile defensive cover.

Only I dont think Makin has ever reached the playing performances of HH. HH at the age of 31, 32 would have been an amazing signing for a championsghip club. There is a fair question mark about his age but potentially a first XI player and worth the minimal risk in my opinion.

chilipepper91 Scott Brown > Herman Hreidarsson

HTH

THEY DONT PLAY IN THE SAME POSITION

Also Scott Brown sounds like a right old whinging moody moaning typical scot with a massive battered chip on his shoulder, and I for one wouldn't want him at the club with his I'm bigger than you attitude

Why because he was 100% right evaluating the options available to him? :|

As for Hreidarsson, I've always rated him as a player. Could cover Armstrong but I think he'd be happier playing central defense.

I'm pretty sure he played in that position a fair bit for Charlton.

Well yes and no - yes,he did came out and belittle Reading, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one to metaphorically stick 2 fingers up at him. But had he come to the club we may not have been in the relegation fight as he was a direct replacement for Sidwell IIRC - the player we missed in our 2nd season.
But there was another comment I recall seeing from him, completely RFC unrelated, which made me think "I'm glad we didn't get this billy big boots" unfortunately I can't remember the quote. But it was more this that nailed my opinion of him

He can play either left back or centre back. I would actually rather see him and ivar than ivar and doobs!!! (Least for this season)

Still think for next season we need 2 new centre backs or 1 proven quality prem centre back to play alongside STEPHAN ANDRE BIKEY

Latest from EP is that - like us with De La Cruz  - Pompey want to keep Herman for FA Cup matches. So, they lose to Bristol C tonight, we might see some progress on this.

Just been chatting to a Pompey-supporting mate of mine. He reckons HH is to slow for FB these days and is a much better prospect for CB.

Given that we have more CBs than we know what to do with, this suggests to me that signing HH is unlikely, Unless some-one else is leaving of course!

Maybe Pearce might be leaving in a cash plus player deal for Surman??? The possibilities are endless

With Adams in charge, City have a great chance of a 'surprise' tonight.

Pompey winning - does this mean Hreidarsson will be staying put?

He has been quoted as wanting to join us too, but Pompey seem to want to keep hold of him for this cup run. Hopefully that'll change. He'd be a good addition here.
