Would love it, but at what price? Derby wont sell a key player like him for something like £1.5m. And I know I bore y'all, but we wont spend over that on any one player while we're in this division.

Depends how he as a player looks at it. He's from that part of the country so he may be more than happy playing at Derby but he's got to be mid 20's now and not played at the top level. Now let's suppose Reading are interested (yes you are boring and Reading would pay that sort of fee if they felt it was worthwhile long term) now Reading are going to be in the top 3, certainly top 4 which means playoffs and possible promotion. If Reading are still looking good for top 2 towards the end of January and Derby are still on their long road to nowhere, there is every chance he'd be interested in a move, if he has any personal ambition.

Every article I have seen says Hunt will go to "xxx" if they offer £5 million. Nothing more concrete than that.

Which you can say about literally any club.

Rumour is that Hunt will either go to Spurs or Wigan. If Spurs can't get Wilson Palacios they'll look at taking Hunt.

If Palacios leaves Wigan then Wigan are expected to make an approach.

Of course even if an approach is made Hunt could turn it down (more likely with Wigan than Spurs).

The guy has on a number of occasions made it clear he wants to play for a more illustrious club - its not about the premiership as we will be back there next season , so if it was he'd stay-

This can become wholly disruptive to the squad at a critical time in the season , so the sooner the better - invest the £500k that is provided from the deal to get a player that wants to play for Reading!

You're right HNA? needs to stop gnashing it's teeth, accept the bid, accept the contract on behalf of SHunt and get on with signing his replacement.

Hunt is an important player to way reading play, you could not replace him in a month.

His energy, work rate,positional sense and now his crossing is way above the championship level, i still dont know if he is worth £5m but the progress he has made during his time at Reading will never ever make me write him off at any level.

Personally if Reading got promoted i would transfer list him on the day of promotion, but after everything i love his tenacity big time.
