Anyone with half an eye on the rest of the division would know that Swansea are a good footballing team and at home are going to impose their style of play on us...some of you lot seem to think we have a divine right to rinse every team in this league...face it..it isn't going to happen...some you win some you lose...

It is going to go to the end of the season...it's not going to be a walk in the park like it was 3 seasons ago...

Why take Noel Hunt off when we need to score goals.

Because we needed to change shape to counter Swansea's system that was causing us a lot of problems

Hunt could possibly have stayed on, but it would've meant playing him and someone else out of position. Instead Coppell bought on the player we have who is most suited to playing in the formation, and the one who everyone seems to think is the best player in the squad

The only fault was not doing it earlier

I thought the idea was that good teams impose their style of play/formation on the opposition rather than changing to accommodate them.

And that's what we've done for most of the season and why Coppell has stuck with his 4-4-2 in pretty much every minute we've played

Sometimes things dont go quite as planned and thats when you need to change things about a bit to give yourself a better chance

As I think either Ollie Kearns or Vision said during the week, we were going to be up against the divisions best exponents of 4-5-1 today and it would be a test how we dealt with it. We didnt and we left it a bit late to do anything too much about it

As for playing 3 forwards as suggested by LRF, we could've done, but I guess Coppell wanted to get Mateovsky on and not change our wingers who have been so effective this season

Hmmm, well its away, so won't be easy. But as previously mentioned, it will go down to the wire, lets just hope we start seeing some of the football from earlier on in the season.

Poor result and even poorer performance by the sounds of it. But its not the end of the world, we are still second after all. An off-day for us, and there's gonna be a fair few more by the end of the season - but i still believe we have enough about us to go up automatically.

The teams below all look like they're in a good bit of form so it could well end up being more than a three horse race, not sure if thats a good or bad thing really.

A good result for Bristol City and it won't have been that bad a day...

Commentator summed Reading up well - "alls well when things go to plan, but teams are sussing Reading out and Reading aren't very adaptable" Couldn't agree more, and never been one of the managers strong points as seen in his policy of late substitutions.

Would like to see a coule of decent signings to spice things up, and put pressure on SHunt and Harper, but not hopeful.

I reckon SHunt will have plenty of pressure on him at Spurs or Wigan!

BBC Berkshire dont think we cant get him back as its still in the first month of his loan as he is an outfield player. Goalkeepers however can be recalled at any time the radio reports.

So its Gunnar at R/B for against Wolves, ahead of Kelly because of experience, and ahead of Bikey.

Until Marek (who sounded as if he played well, but you can never tell from radio) came on we did not seem to keep the ball at all. Armo sounded like he had a nightmare against a very average winger in Dyer, and Harper...........well i'm not sure even Archie P and IR can come out and defend him after that...woeful. We NEED a couple of signings just to spice it up in midfield (I'm thinking Campbell-Ryce and Watson) so that we can really push on from here.

It would appear that Martinez has a copy of the Southampton game at the Madstad on video.

High intensity pressing in midfield when we have the ball, good incisive passing to feet at a good tempo when they have the ball.
It does seem to be the blueprint to beat us, but luckily for us there probably aren't many other teams in this league who can carry it off.

Finally a team with a decent central midfield decide to try and dominate us with Harper and surprise surprise it works a treat. The poor quality of the Championship has masked how weak our 'captain' is when in reality any side with a half decent midfield will walk all over us.

Dissapointing today as I for one thought that we would be ok at Swansea, but as in recent games we have got caught out playing against a five man midfield, the message is obviously out that we struggle to control games against such a formation, can we change or will we change ? we do appear to be one dimensional against such formations and we need to have a "plan b" I am not sure if new blood would give us that, we need to be able to cope and overcome these sides, but on the positive side we are still in second place so all not too bad.
